TJ Prerunner build

2002 TJ I've had since 2005.
Started out as a normal jeep project... All my buddies went to prerunners and long travel...

Currently....
Drivetrain 4.0 , 3speed auto, np231 SYE, trussed Dana 30 and a 8.8 in the back, 4.56 gears.

Interior
She's mostly caged, suspension seats, 5point harnesses, custom tire carrier. Intercom setup, ham radio.

Suspension
Front.. 12" 2.5 sway away coil overs, bilstien hydro bumps, Strapt and bumped at 11.75 of travel. Custom links. Custom coil over mounts and engine cage.

Rear.. Relocated coil mounts, fox 2.0 resi tuned by Wayne at all tech, prothanes inserts and just shy of 10" of travel. The rear will soon be getting stretched, 18" 2.5 coil overs and a bunch of other doodads.

Here is how she sits now.

Very cool! How much travel are you going for up front? I need to redo my trac bar, and steering due. Bump steer and too much axle swing. What coil over upper mounts are you looking at? Where are ya located?

Ill be following your build..id ad to my build thread but it says no more allowed. .bummer too..I got all kinds of pics..

You were mentioning about 18" shocks in the rear..why not make some 16" shocks mounted on your links instead of on the axle.

I am mounting them to the links. The 18" 2.5 Are off our trophy truck. We were using for mock up. They will be mounted off the lower links and mounted to the cage behind my seats. It's waaay to much shock but I won't have to worry about heat lol. Looking to get around 18" Of rear travel pending on clearance and driveshaft...

Dude...this has come a LONG way. I remember years ago, when I first joined this forum seeing your build...a cool perspective of jeeps that isnt normally seen (in the TJ world). It wasnt near the caliber it is now. I havent seen you around here much in a while...so its cool to see youve wandered back

Front upper 3x12x150
Front lower 3x18x300

Rear upper 2.5x14x150
Rear lower 2.5x14x250
I think!!!

Im starting with those..well see how they work out.im going for best of both world..fast desert driving and rock crawling. .I still need to keep my air conditioning and back seats so everything is a tight fit..

What spring rates are you running

The last trip before coilovers . Last summer I Towed the TJ from so cal to central Oregon. Did a 200 mile loop from bend Oregon to Christmas valley sand dunes. One of the most beautiful places I've done high speed wheelin at.
