TJ super cheap boost

I found a thread that says I can boost my TJ with JK shocks and springs with a little modifications. I don't have the fire power to bend my JK springs into my TJ cups. So I have bought 3" pucks off ebay and going to use JK shocks ( 3"longer) hopefully I can still use my TJ springs with the 3" puck and them not pop out under full flex. Has anyone else tried this?

Where do you get the JK shocks and springs, and can you give me a link for the pucks?

I bought the pucks off ebay for $65. Then I went on Facebook to Jeep clubs and fan pages and asked if any JK owners with lifts had there stock shocks and springs laying around. I ended up getting a set for free! Installed them over the weekend.. 3" boost.. $65!

It's a budget boost with new shocks. I've had no problems with it.. rides better now with the heavier rated shocks.

Goin to 4" removes the word Budget. You will have to get t-case drops.. sway bar disconects .. The angle on the drive shift would be to great... you will have to the full lift to go that far.

Yes... my next step will be 1" body lift from rough country for $100. I will then be able to run 33-34's with no problems. I will have a grand total of $175 in my lift kit.

Me too. Was there any fabrication involved in having the JK springs and pucks fitting in the TJ housing?

You won't need the pucks if you can heat and stretch out the top of the rear springs. You will have to get it around the bump stop cups. The front shocks mount different on the JK. You will have to pull out the mounting tab from your TJ and insert it into the mounting holes of the JK . The rear shocks are wider so you have to stretch the lower mounting point. Very simple mods. 2.5h job to swap and modify.

You don't want to use the pucks and the springs.. choose one or the other. If you use them both it will run the Jeep up 6"s .. that will make the shocks to short and all your parts will have to much stress. Unless.you replace all sway bar connects and track bars, brake lines, trans case and so on. Then it's not so budget

This is very enticing. A few pics of the completed lift would be much appreciated
