My package from Northridge4x4 came in yesterday. I was excited because I actually had time to install it, but soon got completely bummed out when I realized they did not include the template to cut the hood.

A quick call to PSC and one is being mailed to me.

Well, with it bolted on, you can see where the holes will be. With your template in place, you know where NOT to cut.

That'll look good on the blue paint... it'd look good on green too. lol

Do what TXSt8TJ did. Drill the bolt holes first (the wiper nozzles will keep things aligned), bolt it on. Then you know where you DON"T want to go outside of. Put the template over that then go at it.

Good news for me and a big thumbs up to Poison Spyder Customs.....as soon as I realized the template was not in the box, I called PSC. The CS person told me they would send one out right away. Around lunch today, the FedEx guy dropped off a tube from PSC with the template. I was very impressed that they shipped it overnight for me.

In more good news, my Genright Trail Stinger came in.

Not too much with my Jeep. Just been enjoying driving it in the nice weather lately. I did get the PSC louver mounted, but it's not complete yet because half of the stainless hardware stripped or broke.

Unrelated to my Jeep, but fun anyway....I am rebuilding a little go-kart for my son.

It was given to me like this:

A little while later...this:

I am working on it in the maint. shop at work so my son doesn't know about it. It was hauled over to the sandblast and paint dept. They are blasting it and then will paint it black. I will reassemble from there. It needs a complete rewire, and then it will be ready to roll.

Bad pictures, but here is the louver all done.
I ended up having to buy new stainless hardware for about half of the bolt holes. The fine thread combined with weak hardware overall does not make for a good mix. The course thread stainless I picked up worked great.

I have also started working out my cowl intake. It is being created using a combo of these parts....(I do need to pick up one more connector to complete it).

I am hoping to get started on the hi-line fenders in the days following Christmas. I am trying to knock out all of the associated mods to allow the fenders to take their place.

The intake will be done shortly.
I have the hood pins, so they will be installed next.
I just ordered the windshied washer bottle from ebay today.
I need to pick up the hood trim from the parts store.
The last thing to work out is the battery tray and ABS tray. I am considering ordering the brackets that come with the AEV hi-line kit.

Oh, getting these Black Rock rims for Christmas....

Decided to skip the steelies on this Jeep and go with an alloy. I like the fresh take on the still useful, but outdated steel d-window wheels. The lighter alloy material will also be welcomed.
I will be running them without the center cap.

Also, seeing them on Imped's rig sold me pretty good.

They will look best wrapped in some new Goodyear MT/Rs in the spring, but they will still be a nice change for my current GY Silent Armor tires.

How much are those rims? I want a flat/matte black like this.

I have those black steelies and was considering spraying them with bedliner, but these looks VERY NICE!!!

They are $120 a piece.
I ran Cragar Soft 8s on my previous two TJs. I like(d) them, but wanted something different this go round. Some Walker Evans or Racelines would be great, but I'm just not there.

Not much to report. The new windshield washer bottle came in (thanks for the link Imped)....it's new, just dirty.

Waiting for the break to start tearing into the front of the Jeep. Need to run to the parts store to pick up the hood trim.
Other than the battery tray solution, the other various loose ends are taken care of.

I wish you were too. With an extra set of hands, I might actually get the fenders mocked up, tacked, and ready for final (professional) welding.
I am going to get them fit up and tacked, then bring the tubes in for welding. When that is done, I will cut and fit the plate/skins up and have them welded. When the outer fenders are done, I will work on the inner fender construction.

In a week, I am going to have to be ready for my Jeep to be non-driveable for a while.

I got a little Christmas bonus that I would like to order the rear corner armor with. We shall see.

Those look SHARP!

Might need to talk to you about my current lift and possibly upgrading to another one. Would like your opinion on where I am now to where I want to be later when it comes to my future plans for my jeep.

Sounds good! We will have to get together and chat. Would love to see what you're wanting to do with your Jeep.

I knew I wanted it a couple months ago when I first went to see one. They don't stay in stock anywhere. I passed on it at the time. She went all over and found one for me.
She and I are taking it to the range on Saturday.

I don't get back in town until Tuesday afternoon, so if you're out and about next week, let me know and we can get some lunch somewhere.

Nice gun, and parts, and wheels...
Hood louver looks good, and PSC is a good company, that's why they are so successful. Customer Service.

What washer bottle did you go with and why? Plan on a highline?

Edit: I see now, I like to read backwards

I tried ordering those last year and they wouldn't ship. I have a local guy who can do DOM now so those are in the works.
