2013 Commando Green Thread

So, this is my first post ever, so hopefully I'm doing this correctly!

I signed up for this forum when I saw how much knowledge is on here, especially the 2013 Info thread. I was really bummed at the dealer thinking I would have to wait another year to get a color I liked when I saw that Commando Green was going to be ready ~ September.

I knew immediately that was going to be my first Jeep! After searching for pics of this color and not finding any, I stumbled across Jakob101st's mock up in the 2013 Info thread. TOTALLY SOLD ME. After staring at my screen with bloodshot eyes from reading and looking at everything I could find on the 2013 JKU's, I PM'd him and asked if he could do another mock up of a Commando Green for my toolbox to help me count down the days,

and......

Whoah!

I'm in the same camp. Just biding my time until I can put in my order for a JKUR in Commando Green. This just made the waiting that much harder. Thanks a lot RDUSA!

I must say, you deserve thanks also for such a great shot. This is my favorite Jeep pic that I've ever seen, and thats why I shamelessly had it converted to Commando Green

I'm still torn between Dune and Commando Green.

That is a great color, shame it was not available when I bought mine. I'd buy a flat OD green one in a heartbeat.

I don't understand why they didn't offer the 2012 Freedom Edition in Commando Green. I would have absolutely purchased that!

Hi

I have a 2 door 2012 Black forest green, there are almost no forest or green in it, maybe 1 %. So black forest green is about 99% totally black .

i think I would like to have 4 door but still Jeep do not deliver any dark green color (army color)

This commando color is to bright for me in my country, we have forest.

I wonder were this color fits, it do not fit in the color above in the green forest, it may fit in a desert.

Look at the above picture, does it look like it is melting in in the forest, it do not! Natural green pearl is much better, but not available.

I miss a Jeep military color in dark green flat color.

Crazy, Jeep is a former military vehicle and comes most in smurf colors, that is very strange, and I do not want to buy.

I have to wait before I switch to green color, there are no green dark color on 2012 or 2013

Just got a great phone call from my local dealer.

He said that he was been trying like hell to find out when they can place the first orders for the Commando Green 2013's.....

and the answer is...

AUGUST 6th!!!!!

Finally can stop bugging every dealership in the Phoenix Area everyday for this info!

Anybody else concerned that with the amount of allocations for the wrangler each month will make it difficult to get a commando green w/manual? I think that color is the only possible way I would consider buying a 2013 so it does have me a bit concerned with how fast I hear the allocation periods closing...

My plan is to be at my dealer first thing on the 6th and chase away anyone who attempts to place their order before me...

On a related note: are we sure it opens the sixth? I have had several people say it opens the 7th.

Well from what I've gathered thus far, actually thats a lie, from what Pat has said, it's august 7th. I actually hope it is the 7th because I don't think I'll be able to get off work on the 6th to order otherwise

and if I don't get Commando Green, I don't get a Jeep...

I like this color also. Sure hope they continue it on the 2014 models. I know its kinda stupid, but cant get a 13.. Bad luck!

You, me, and a lot of other folks as well.

Mock-ups from swatches never quite tell the full story no matter what the color. The awesome pict in the OP seems a little yellow compared to the Commando swatches I've seen in these posts:

It's similar to the US Army Olive Drab. I guess we use different greens for our military.

I won't dispute that... but I will say that the average member of the US population would point out a specific color there as Olive Drab. If you were to show those colors with no names, a majority would choose something similar to commando.

Yeah I am not fond of the rims either. Any chance for someone to do a mock up with Allied Stars on the jeep. I know it may be cheesy, but I am thinking of putting some on mine when it arrives...

Rims aren't my favorite either, they'll be quickly replaced once I get my '13.

That's my hope. Won't know for sure till we can see the real thing, but from what I've seen thus far it's a winner.
