I have searched but can't find anything on where people are routing their CB antenna cable. I have everything installed except for the cable and I was just wondering where other people have routed the cable. I have a 2012 2 door. The unit is a Cobra 75 mounted under the dash. The antenna is mounted on my bumper tire carrier which means I will have to manipulate the hinge area so when I open the tire carrier I won't stretch the cable (bad idea or not).

Pics of your mount would be helpful, but you can start with this sugestion. Run/ziptie your cable down to the hinge. Pass the end between the bumper and the body. Underneath your rig, there should be an opening to the area behind the passanger's side rear lights. You can remove the real light by undoing the two inner crews. Pass the cable up and unto the tub via an opening by the roll bar. Run the cable along the tub with the other wireing to the dash. If your radio box is under the glove box, then you are golden.

Lol i just have my cable slammed by the rear door. You could put it through one of the holes in the tub?

I was a to to run the cable THROUGH the rear door behind the spare and snake it over to where the hinges are, and then under the rear cargo area carpeting. Can't see a thing

Absolutely. Check by the rear roll bar. There should be a grometed hole that leads to the area behind the rear lights.

I'm sorry, when you said tire carrier, I thought you had a swing away. For the OE tire carrier, just follow the third brake light wiring.

My cable enters the rubber plug that the tail light wires and license plate wires come from. I like this setup the best of all of them that I've seen.

You run the cable thru the grommet where the cable for brake light goes thru. Just remove grommet and cut a slit and rtv when done, remove the inside door grile vent, carefully, then just route the cable where the other cables exit by the hinge. I routed the cable under the lip where the hardt sits and then up front to under the radio where my Cobra box sits. Pretty simple and clean way to do it.

Sorry I should have been more clear. I have a Rock Hard rear bumper and tire carrier. The unit has a antenna mount hole and that is what I used. When I swing the spare tire out of the way, the cable needs to be routed in such a way that it wont restrict/break when I swing it open.

I went through the grommet on the tailgate as well. My cb is mounted over the rear view mirror so I ran the wire under the roll bar padding to keep it all out of site.

The antenna cable can get worn from bending too much and go bad. You really don't want any super tight bends or where it is getting stressed if you can help it. I would suggest going with the cable up the roll bar vs the floor once you find a way to get it in the Jeep.

Perhaps get an L bracket and mount it to one of the original spare carrier holes in the door. That would seem to be the cleanest look maybe? Good luck!

Well if you do decide on keeping it on the tire carrier, then I stand by my first post. It will be the cleanest way to do it.
