| May be buying...2 quick questions.
I trust the advice of this group more than anyone...so now that I've buttered you up, please help.
What's the difference between the 4-door X and the 4-door Sahara? From what I can see, power is the same.
Is there a big difference between 2009 and 2010 models?
Bonus question: Should I be looking for any specific great deals out there right now? Huge rebates, etc.?
Advice MUCH appreciated. Thanks.

Sahara has power windows and locks, bigger rims, different tires, painted fenders flares. Mostly looks and comfort kind of things.
2009 and 2010 are not much or any different, with the exception of some color choices.
Just ordered a 2010 Sahara four days ago, on Monday. They are cheaper right now than the 2009. No idea why. It made no sense to me. Only difference is 2009 has unlimited pwr train warranty and 2010 has 100,000 mile pwr train warranty.
If you are serious about buying look for invoice price plus incentives. That is what people seem to be getting them for right now.
I even got the Rubicon wheels and tires thrown in for free!
Hope that helps you some. Any more ?s just PM me or ill watch this post.
Good luck with your jeep hunt!

I think the biggest difference is in the creature comforts. The X may be better on the trail than the Sahara but the Sahara will have a better sound system and there are usually more options included. Painted flairs on the Sahara, black plastic on the X. They have good comparisons up on the jeep.com site. You can put the two side by side and scroll down to look at the differences.

Nick, thanks...that's funny, because I just scrolled down and was reading your thread about your 2009/10 dilemma. My wife is anti-Jeep (sensible car, that sort of thing), so I'm going to have to get a great deal to avoid grumpy looks. What saves me is the 4-door, able to seat 5, etc.

The other factor that's helping...my 3 daughters (11, 9 and 6) are PASSIONATELY pro-Jeep. My wife is outnumbered. Plus, this will probably be the "kids' car" in 6-7 years, so it's pretty big/safe.

The 2010s shouldnt be going lower than the 2009s... Extra incentives on the 09's, lower msrp/invoice and lifetime powertrain = win. The 2010's do have a different type of top - I saw some videos that make it look marginally easier to take on/off... not that the 09's were hard to use. I got an 09 Sahara vs X because of the oem seat material, sound system, tinted soft top windows, and running boards... but they do come w/ quite a bit more than that (just didn't care for the rest). X w/ S package vs Sahara... I think the Sahara's a better deal.

My wife was totally against the purchase of our TJ until a sunny day driving around without the top.. Now, I have a built 2000 Sport and a pretty Silver 2009 Sahara within a year of each other.. Women are easy once they think its their idea..

Hey CT, I got ur PM but it said you had not signed up to receive emails or something. I don't know. Anyway with your question. Yea I did receive a rebate on the 2010, but only because I own a jeep right now. They call it customer loyalty or something like that. You should be able to get them down to Invoice price though which is pretty good even with out any incentives. Usually if you mention seeing people getting them for invoice price online they will give you the same deal. Try doing that and see what they say back.
I also went with the Sahara, seems to get knocked around here a lot. But I figure if you are going to be doing even 90% on road and 10% off you might as well have your creature comforts and a few grand left in your pocket. Good luck, let me know if you have any more questions.

I just went thru the same thing except I knew what model (Rubicon) I wanted.
We plan on keeping this one for a VERY long time so I went with the 09 because of the warranty. I also opted to spend the extra money to get the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty that covers everything except wear items for the life of the vehicle. Did I mention we plan on keeping this one a VERY LONG TIME.
I paid invoice minus the 1500 rebate for ours. If you currently have a chrysler, mopar, jeep, dodge vehicle you can get another 1000 rebate.
