I am going to get new Jeep today
Could you, guys, tell me what I have to check (in the car), and what documents dealer has to provide to me (something for Lifetime warranty and 3years warranty)? |

Are you buying from the dealership? Brand new? They will give you the warranty info when you go to the financial guy.
IMO, if you know youre going to have the Jeep for a very very long time. Do what I did and upgrade that 3 year bumper to bumper warranty to an Unlimited mileage/year bumper to bumper warranty. I think it cost me an additional 2,500 bucks or so. But basically what it means is that if anything ever breaks on my Jeep regardless of how long ive had it or how many miles it has on it, a $100 deductible fixes it. This means: computer, AC, transmission, windows, pumps, belts, almost ANYTHING and it gets fixed. Otherwise, upgrade it to the 100K mile bumper to bumper...3 years/36K miles is pretty easy to do...and it really just doesnt cover it into the timezone when things start to deteriorate. Nothing on a car should break within 36K miles i would hope! |

We did the same thing.
IMHO, more of a piece of mind thing that its covered no matter what, other than normal wear and tear stuff like brakes, wipers etc.

Agreed Donnie. Because I plan on driving this vehicle for literally 300K miles+ With the warranties I have on it now...that thing should technically go on forever so long as I dont total it. With everything basically covered...I could get a new engine...axels...tranny...basically anything if/when it goes out. To me that unlimited bumper to bumper warranty is totally worth it since I dont plan on selling it to a second owner. If you are planning to sell to a second owner...ask about warranty transfer before you drop 2600~ish bucks on a warranty. Didnt bother to ask about it since I knew I wasnt going to do anything like that.

I have the same bumper to bumper lifetime warranty that I purchased with my 09Rubi but there is one small loop hole in that warranty and that is the cost to fix the vehicle can't be more than the vehicle is worth.
So say X-amount of years from now and the motor blows up. If the cost to replace the motor is more than the vehicle is worth they won't fix it under warranty but they will pay you what the vehicles value is and I believe you get to keep the vehicle. So technically it isn't a "Lifetime Warranty".

but is that per fix, (e.g tranny goes $1,500, axle breaks $1,200, manifold cracks $2,100) but they all happen 6 months apart and vehicle only worth $4,500.
Would all the repairs be covered? If so then its total worth it. Because your talking a minimum 10 - 15yrs before the value really depreciates bad. |

If they do pay you 4500 bucks for the remaining value of the Jeep...Put that towards a new Jeep and buy a new Unlimited Bumper to Bumper Warranty! ("UBBW" is what im gonna call it from here on out...put that on the acronym thread lol)

The same loophole might exist for that warranty as well? Either way, with the UBBW you can literally drive your Jeep until it is swept away by the wind as particles of dust...or until you completely demolish it!
Worth the 2500 bucks? Havent had to use the warranty yet, only have 3,700 miles on my Jeep currently. But I'll +1 the UBBW. |

I agree. Even knowing about the loop hole I would buy it again.
The lifetime bumper to bumper basicly upgrades your powertrain lifetime warranty to full lifetime bumper to bumper, except for wear items, and the same loop hole would exist. As you all probably already know the warranty is thru D/C not a aftermarket company. Also if you're looking at purchasing the Lifetime B to B warranty remember like all things, the price is negotiable. I think it retails for, without looking, $2900 and I got mine for 2600. Never except the first price they try and sell you cause there is always some wiggle room. |

I'm with Rawb77, donnie, and B11. Mine has bumper to bumper that the dealership sells, fourth vehicle from this family of dealerships and I have been very happy with it. This one is 7/100K. By that time, I don't think I'll mind being on my own for repairs. Like the others, I'm planning on keeping this one until it rots out from under me or it is totaled. By then it'll owe me nothing or if it still has value and is totaled, the insurance will provide the start of the purchase of another jeep. Happy jeepin'.

Yeah, bare minimum go with the 100K mile warranty. the 36K mile one is laughable because like I said, nothing should break on your Jeep within those miles...hence why they give you that warranty...they dont expect to have to do many repairs/fixes with it. 100K is getting into that territory where if you want/need something to break, get it to break before that mark so you can get it new!
My brother has a Honda accord, got a slightly upgraded warranty on it when he bought it. Transmission went out 4 days before that warranty expired. Since it was all under warranty, he got a brand new transmission. Happy he did that too! |

Hah, I've had mine for a month coming up on the 9th of Nov...I've already got 4300 miles on it! Then again...I do drive it for work and I get an "all you can drink" gas card and a nice lil car allowance to pay for it on my paycheck!
