With a baby on the way I decided to trade in the sports car and go into a Wrangler Unlimited Sahara...

I am getting it tomorrow with the following options and lease terms.

2008 Unlimited Sahara
Steel Blue
Dual Tops (Freedom and Sunrider)
Side Airbags
MyGig
Auto Trans. so the wife can drive it too
Power Windows etc
MSRP @ $32,600 something like that

I am getting it just below invoice with a $750 customer loyalty rebate (my wife drives a 2007 Grand Cherokee Laredo with leather Nav, X etc)

Lease Terms
36 Months
12k Miles per year
$399.00 per month
$0 down taxes in the payment and fees rolled in

The only thing due at signing is the first payment of $399.00 and about $125 for DMV and new plates.

I think I got a great deal considering I have a friend who has a 2007 Sahara with only Auto Trans and power windows as options and he pays $471/month with Zero down. I have like $4k in options that he doesn't have and I am paying $72 less per month.

I almost bought a 08 4door but it was the rubicon and it was 33,000
fully loaded with nav.

According to Jeep website the Rubicon with Nav and Dual tops and all the other options runs like closer to $35k

The sticker on the Unlimited Sahara is like $32600 I think they are giving it to me for around $29 and change.

Either way I am totally stoked about this thing...Can't wait to get it to a jeep jamboree this summer.

So, how does it work if you have a lease? Can you do mods, wheel the crap out of it and turn it back in totally spent?

My previous vehicle was a 2007 BMW 335i Coupe.

nice! hah that's funny, I finally got the 08 335i cp that's been on order for 2 months (almost ) - picking it up today or thursday.

i've always wanted a Wrangler though and the lease deals are tempting....

I love my jeep, but I also love my BMW. Two different animals for two different rushes.

does it have the tow package with the D44 rear

a friend of mine bought a 4door rubicon with nav for 32,500
the rubicon I looked at was 33,000 had everything but nav
but the nav wont do me any good it doesnt the off road tracks in it

doing a lease can you lift it and wheel the piss out of it

I absolutly loved my 335i coupe and IMHO it really is the best bang for the buck as far as performance, handling, style, comfort and luxury.

And if you are in to modding it is a great car to customize (as long as you do it tastefully and don't rice it) I was planning on getting another one...I was in an accident a few months ago someone blew a stop sign and sent me running into a tree totalling the car....

While waiting for the insurance company to get off there asses and total it and pay off my lease...my priorities have changed...baby on the way and I am focusing on stacking as much money as possible and cranking out as many hours in the office as I can....for now.

So while the Jeep in my mind was somewhat of a compromise and I really was not crazy about it at first it has grown on me (2 friends have wrangler unlimiteds) and now I am really excited to get it..

If I can't have a fast coupe right now...at least I can rip the top off and cruise, or hit up a jamboree, or take it off roading somewhere..while having a relatively safe car for my baby that is functional and fun.

If you are planning on doing any performance work to your 335i let me know in the year I had mine I tried every damn chip and piggy back computer on the market..and I can steer you in the right direction...I went through 4 different chips computers etc until I found the one that was the best and actually pretty cheap considering the performance gains.

with a lease you can do whatever you want with it...just bring it back to stock when the lease is over...and any noticeable damage you will be paying for.

I lease for the tax write off and the convenience as I never keep a car longer than 3 years. I have heavily modified many of my leased vehicles and often make back about 60% of my money on most of my mods which I am fine with considering I got 3 years worth of fun out of them
