Is there a way to disconnect the warning bell for the seatbelt?
I use my Jeep at work, and am in and out of the Jeep all day, the stinking beep is driving me nuts.

Should be a connection under the seat. I dont drive a jeep but I have disconnected them under the seat on other rigs I have had.

put the blet in the holder b4 u turn on the key. turn the key in theon possition but don't start. release and put the belt back in the holder 3 times while the key is on. if u hear a chime then u succeeded.

Yup, that sounds like the procedure that is in the owner's manual. Mine has been off now for almost a year. Mine whispers sweet nothings to me now with just a hint of light flashing on the dash reminding me to put the belt on. Mine is always on when I am on the road and I don't need the reminder for me to do that. It is called conditioning and it has been done over a period of about 30 years for me.

Tried this...First time I took the seatbelt out it chimed once, second time it chimed again...third time it didnt chime...

Figured it was good to go, got in the jeep and started driving to check it out...*DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING*

Hmm, if first you not succeed try try again?

How's this for an oxymoron: Liberal Democrat Anti Government Intrusionist

I like made up words too.

Seat-belts and helmets are a government intrusion into our personal decision making process when they are mandated. I voted in Massachusetts to repeal the seat-belt law years back and it was repealed. I would do the same for helmets too. Eventually our great state in its infinite wisdom overrode our vote to capture federal highway dollars and instituted a limited seat-belt law whereby if you get pulled over for some other violation and you are not wearing a seat-belt you are cited for it but you can't be pulled over specifically for not wearing a seat-belt. Now in recent days they have come out with this ridiculous "click-it-or-ticket" campaign flying in the face of our state's seat-belt law history. I personally consider it an insult....not from golfspaz (your cool) mind you but from my state government. I gristle every time that stupid-a$$ commercial comes on.

Seat-belts save lives as do helmets. Statistics show this. I appreciate commercials that tout this fact and encourage us to willingly wear appropriate safety gear while participating in high risk behaviors where the benefits out-weigh the inconvenience. I choose to wear a seat-belt while in a car/jeep on the road and even on the trail...especially on the trail. I choose to wear a helmet while on a motorcycle or bicycle. I like to keep it as just that...a choice. If there are people who for whatever reason want to choose to not wear one of these, I say let them do what they want. In the great scheme of things when considering the total gene pool, and survival of the fittest/smartest, the choice to be careful will have an impact on our total civilization psyche.

Let the liberals now begin their ranting in reply as many will...probably, no doubt, expound all sorts of reasons why these things should be mandated. This is one of the few areas when I agree with the conservatives and I mean very few. Another is gun law restriction issues for law abiding citizens....but that is a whole other discussion...I digress.

And before I end my rant, I have visited New Hampshire a lot recently where their motto is "live free or die" and have seen enough regulation there to make you puke. They no longer live up to that saying and should rip it off of all public places. That saying is a joke IMHO and a disgrace to your state. OMG I'm on a roll.

I hated mine too & I do wear it most all the time, but when I have a short drive to the post box I prefer to leave it off. The chimes are so annoying so it's one less

I know guys, but I am a Maintenance Man for an apartment complex. I drive back and forth across the property all day getting in and out constantly.... I wear it when out on the road.

I turn mine off when I am up at my family cabin. It's out in the forest and I don't think if I hit a tree going 10MPH, I am going to have any great danger to myself.

Now when I am in the city I always wear my belt because i don't trust the idiotic drivers of today's world. Kids find it more important to text their little buddies and post their facebook status, or tweet that they are driving, instead of actually paying attention to the road. I put on my belt because the other drivers in my city a f-ing retarded.

When it rains here, it is a fact that you will hear sirens within minutes of the roads being wet.

I have to increase my safety because people are dumb on the road. >

Lost a good friend on his way back to camp from a run. He was on a dirt road not going fast but when the bugy went off the road and then rolled over he was crushed by the cage. Im not saying you need to click it or anthing... Most of the time I don't. I know the danger. I just want to make sure that you know even at 10mph you can still be killed.

It was so long ago when I disabled mine it is hard to remember. I do remember this: I had the owners manual out and as I recall, it took me several tries. I kept thinking I must have done something in the procedure wrong so I kept reading the procedure and trying again. When I finally got the acknowledgment chimes in response I think I did a little mind celebration and it has been silent ever since. Yeeha.

Tried the key on, remove - click deal several times yesterday, no luck yet.
Couldn't find the info in my owner's manual......

NOTE:
The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON or START position.

The manufacturer does not recommend deactivating the Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert).

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition key to the ACCESSORY/RUN position (engine does not need to be running), and wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.
4. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.

After doing my rant above about click-it-or-ticket, I was reading on the forum and to my surprise, I saw an ad from Massachusetts for click-it-or-ticket.

First I thought how ironic.
Then I thought, I wonder if the site gods could have played a trick on me with the ad showing up soon after I had stated my opinion on it.
Then a bit of paranoia set in and I thought could state law enforcement be watching me?

Anyway, timing was perfect with the ad.

This site uses Google adwords - it matches ads to keywords that the advertiser buys. So it's usually cars and seat covers. If you really wanted to have fun and help support WF, you could start a thread where people talk about Viagra and other prescription drugs. Those are the real expensive ad words.

PS: I should probably add that the site managers have promised NOT to ever try to manipulate those keywords, that it would be very bad and tacky to do what I just recommended, and that I in no way condone or support that type of behavior. Professional driver on a closed course. Do not attempt.

I wear my seatbelt all the time while on the road (highway) but while just messing around at the house or on class 1 trails or helping spot my daughter on trails ALOT of hopping in and out dont want to click it everytime or hear the dinging.
