What is the weight of the stock bumper on a JK and what if any after market ones are lighter or the same weight?

:D Yea MOPWR2U has it all ritout-

My front Oly 530 was about 34 lbs and the rear was about 16/18 lbs-and they are light duty--3/16" steel and the powdercoat so far is good--1½ yrs!

Here's abetter rear bumper pic

I've HiLifted in the front, but I used the points that the frame bolts at, no problemo-

:dance::rofl: JIMBO
So do you have a receiver hitch mounted winch then?

:D Yea, I've got two "mobile" light duty winchs of 2000lbs and 3500 lbs-

I've got a couple of MINI-PULLEYS (sheaves) that double the rated/pulling of the winchs, but they're not intended for heavy recovery--

I've moved my trailer over rocks withem, but haven't had to do any recoverys and I would think seriously if it happened-I have pulled my jeep up a hill, but with no resistance !!

My front bumper isn't designed for recoveries, but just to move trailers around, which I've done that and it's rated for 300lb TONGUE WEIGHT !!

It's all fine for me and my off-road trailer (very light), but I wouldn't adviseit for you guys that go out with clubs and DO MUD !!

Nonetheless, that's a pretty sweet setup for your needs. I don't think id trust that capacity with resistance either on my JKU :D

I would imagine you're a tough guy to shop for during xmas

:derailed:
Have you thought about mounting any recovery hooks to the front or rear bumper? Im wondering if the stock front hooks would still bolt on over that one

I like the price of the olympic, and the fact that it utilizes the stock fogs is a plus, but I need some kind of shackle or hook for what I use my jeep for. Right now I can't use my hi-lift on anything but the wheels with the lift mate (and winching I guess but I haven't tried that).

:D Heh Heh, yea my boys with firearms and off-road vehicles always have me buy stuff forem and SOMETIMES payback and they can't get me anything for xmas, but gift cards (Lowes/WalMart/Amazon)

Like bamajeepeer says, yea the stock tow hooks will bolt in the same spots, but to me it looks to TEMPORARY, so I just do the following-front and back--

The Lunnettes are good for tow straps/recovery straps/ropes/cacles/whatever and will handle quite a load (over 19,000 lbs) I have two Lunnettes and the one in the pic is the bigger of the two, the smaller one will accept D-Rings (3/4")-

This pic shows the smaller one, but the D-Ring is 180° out of placement--

how much of my lift do yall think i will lose if i put the rampage bumpers on? i have a 3.5" Rough Country series II. but also, if any of yall could recommend a FULL WIDTH front bumper and the matching rear bumper without the tire carrier for no more than around 1500 dollars thatd be great.

When I read the title of you post, first I thought wtf ?
Then I started reading, and learned that this is one very valid question.
The answers i read are fascinating and mind boggling.
The weight differences are unbelievable. Add to this bigger and heavier rims and tires, add to this a winch - and there you have it : a dog !!
Granted, dog which may be rock crawling, but try hitting the highway with this. No wonder lot's of guys are switching to Hemi engines.

Does anyone know, offhand, if the LoD bumper (without stinger) will accept an RCX winch plate?
I'm running the RCX plate and an ENGO 10000 winch on the stock bumper and would like to be able to use the winch plate I have as opposed to buying a second one.
