Ok people I have breaking news most dont know about. As you can see I have a Stinger bumper on my JK. And let me tell you after the 35's I put on the jeep my MPG dropped a lot. I didnt really care that it did but I Found the way to get MPG back. After I put my stinger bumper on I noticed better MPH but it didnt add up to me so I did some test and the benefits are listed.

1. Air flow the stinger directes the air under the jeep so creating LIFT and a lighter jeep.

2. With the Air flow pushing up I got an extra 2" of lift on my jeep.

3. As a result of a lighter jeep I have noticed less strain on the engine so now my engine will last more than a half a million miles.

4. Another effect of the lighter jeep I get around 4-6 more MPG that stock.

Please let me know the numbers you guys got back after adding a stinger bumper so I can compare to mine.

Team McClaren Mercedes announces aero-package for Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

McClaren officials announced that they will be trying an unusual aero package for the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the famed circuit at Spa, Belgium.

Martin Whitmarsh, Team Principal at Vodaphone McClaren Mercedes said: "Due to the fast nature of the track at Spa, McClaren will go with a unique aero package that will emphasize lift rather than downforce. We have found that a canted tubular arrangement fitted to the nose of the MP4-27 will have the effect of diverting a significant portion of the airflow underneath the car increasing the speed and decreasing the tire wear."

Whitmarsh continued: "An added benefit of this aero package that we will call "The Stinger" is that it will make recovering the car from the gravel traps much easier."

OK OK

show me the wind tunnell test results with individual wheel weights as a function of speed and lift coefficients with and without the stinger & I will not make any more smarta$$ comments. Until then I will be working on my hyperdrive motivator and negative power coupling

If your good with numbers and what is true weight of your jeep then you can calculate the before and after numbers divide by3.27 add 4 and you can get the numbers of how much you gained from a stinger.

In response to this I have to say it.

They are hard on the eyes

I still dont get how a stinger "directs airflow" under the jeep, its just tubes, nothing flat to "redirect". I guess some have a tiny flat portion at the tip, but its looks completely useless as a spoiler/dam, specially at the overwhelming speed limit of... 60mph

Or did I miss the sarcasm in the OP?

I have a flat section on the front with a few holes in it and I really thought I was going to crash the first time I drove my jeep after I put the stinger on it really is lighter its almost payed itself off with the money I have saved in gas.

Hey man - I am just wondering if you are a younger guy or maybe not much mechanical experience or science background or something. I think people thought your claims were pretty unlikely and just started having some fun with it.

I have to think you must have made some kind of calculation error or not accounted for some other change, gas formulation, something. Don't take it too hard, it's just the internet.

If you know anything about aerodynamics, you know a tubular (cylindrical) shape disturbs air in its wake TWENTY TIMES its diameter.
And yes, I did work in the aerospace industry.

So all I need to do is put a stinger on my Jeep, Drive 70 plus mph on the trails and then I will not have to buy the lift kit to clear the rock I scrape on all the time. And in the proses I will gain 4 to 6 miles per gallon!!!!

You should patent it and sell it to Toyota for use on their Prius. On a light weight car like that it might improve mpg by 10 to 15 mpg.

BTW, who was the person strapped to your Jeep to measure to 2" of lift????

Well the half million miles part in my post should have made it clear it was a joke to make a few of you guys crack up. I didnt think anyone would really fall into the joke sorry to all who have got butt hurt and could not take a joke. On top of that I am glad some of you are so smart and I am not lol I didnt know this was a TECH Forum. I thought I was selling ICE on Craigslist with free shipping.

Really now no need to cry over a joke you must not have read much on this site Cause if you have an issue you will have your answer to your problem. This site has many good things if you really look into it more but yes some people have and DO post threads for a laugh.
