So its clear that the front axles in the Jk series wranglers are not a great choice when upgrading your tires to 35". This isnt a thread to dispute the stronger and latger ring gear etc of the dana 44 over the dana 30. It is however a real world experience and no Magazine journalist article on the truth of the axle durability. We know the axle tubes and knuckles are less than desirable on the Jk front options. But are they really so delicate they bend and disfigure even with simple dailey driving? Are sleaves and gussets necessary for the weekend warrior? Im tired of explaning my opinion, this is a question ive posted to show a non member. Be nice, stay on topic. Any experiences are helpfull. Thanks in advance everybody.

I understand people wanting to make sure it is going to hold up. (I have made lots of post on here saying I beleave in overkill)
I beleave that only sleeves and gussets is more then enough. I did install a small truss on the long tube side just to be sure. Unless you are going to wheel the piss out of it with something over 40's(then the tubes are the least of your worrys) you are good to go.
We run 5 diamonds and there are JK's with 37/40's with only sleeves and the C's gusseted and I have yet to see a bent tube or C failer

I won't be doing any extreme wheeling, just some fun stuff, general trails, etc.
Given the cost (of labor) to sleeve the axles, I'd rather just have this kit welded on and call it good.
And given that I won't have the dealer do this stuff, I don't want to tear into the axle itself and void my warranty should something internal go wrong. I'm ok with having something welded on the outside to add strength. That shouldn't aid in anything failing, the opposite should occur.

So I plan on running 315/70/17's and 2.5" lift and I will be 90% road driving my JKU, I will probably run mostly the easy Green to mild Blue trails, and I really dont want to have any issues with the D30 with that info given would I be okay with the Artec kit or should I get sleeves also?
I'm on a very tight budget and will be building this over time, Since I know once I get the lift and tires I will have the itch to hit trails more often I'm thinking I should save for the front axle reinforcement good first.
When I saw the Artec kit my initial thought was that it was decently priced and it seems like something I can install myself, I can weld pretty good but I'm no professional...
Any input from the more experienced wheelers of weather that kit alone will be enough or if I should have sleeves also would be great.

Does any one no of any axle reiforcement mods that are pretty easy to install. I am going to run 315s also should I get sleeves or just truss, and gusset it with the artic kit?

some opinion and some experience here, doing a lot of reading on the pros and cons and necessity, Rusty's offroad has weld on kit for 70 bucks or so, artex has kit and several others in 200 dollar plus prices. Have yet to have anyone confirm that the c has actually spread on the jeep axle with 35 inch tires, guess its a possibility for the tubes to bend at the c's or the center section, some would have you believe this can be done with a jack supporting the jeeps weight only. Used floor jacks on the center section on everything from trucks to cheap cars no alignment issues ever. Have driven several 4x4's Jeep and others with up to 40 inch tires, even abused by jumping over dirt mounds put there to prevent wheeling. Never bent an axle on any, busted pinion's, busted spiders, twisted axle splines but never bent the actual tube. I am probably going to go the Rusty's weld on route just cause I can weld have the equipment and its a litlle more peace of mind, but really like the mass bolt change out for new jeeps to eliminate possible DW dont think its really necessary for most of us.
