Got an '09 2dr X with Soft top. After Trade in we got it down to 20,000. After UBBW (Unlimited Bumper to Bumper Warranty) I'm sitting right at 22,500.

They still make $$ off the kickback. Never negotiate using MSRP.

I paid about 450 below invoice, and they gave me way to much for my trade.

Personally, I'm waiting for better manufacture incentives.. $750 cash back is not good enough for me. I think they can do better.. What about you?
Stopped by the our local Jeep dealership the other day to do a test drive with the wife as she's never been inside a JK.. They didn't have anyone who wanted to take us out for a test drive because I indicated to him that I was not ready to buy on that day.. How short-sighted are these dealerships? Needless to say, they will probably not get our business...

well they are down to 21,500 OTD with my trade, trading in a 07 dodge megacab 4x4 with the 5.9 CTD, I owe 28,500.
yea, the JK is a 2010, 4x4 hard doors soft top no cruise or eletric windows, the only thing I dont like about it is that it has no limited slip in the rear, one wheel spinner???

I would like the hear from those that have the lsd in the rear,, just how good it is on the road.
And not from hard core off roaders. All I have heard off road is,, it acts just like an open diff. And its not worth the money.. But again this is from hard core off roading.

Last month I got this:
09 Rubi, 2-dr, Power convenience, Auto transmission, Dual tops, AM/FM 6 Disc DVD/MP3 Radio, Trailer Tow Group.
MSRP = $33.520, Price Paid = $29.030
And I did not qualify for the owners loyalty bonus (since I didn't own a Jeep)...
God bless the recession! I took me 3 months of researching prices and inventories and 2 months sending emails with my offer. I never went to the dealer.. when we agreed on the price, I went there signed the paperwork and bought the Jeep within 45 min...
If you can find a 09 in stock you can defenitely negotiate the price :-)
It would be different with the X, I am just saying that price margins are huge!

First vehicle I've personally only ever bought. Brought my dad along to help put his foot down when/if I needed him (and cause he was cosigning for me)
I did 90% of the negotiating on my JK X. I upped my trade in from a measly $2000 to $3500 which made the overall cost much lower. Then at the end I decided I wanted them to knock off a few hundred more dollars because I wanted it, which they did.
Afterwards they showed me what my monthly price would be and it was like $520 a month. I said "I dont agree with that at all, put a big X through it and said bring that interest rate down from the 12% youre trying to screw me with." In the end I got the vehicle with a 6.5% interest rate which brought the monthly payments down almost $100!
I was vicious...they're hurting for sales...I took advantage!

Even when you get a great deal you are left with the feeling that you could do better...
I did not pay the whole amount upfront. Before going to the dealer, I went to my bank (a Credit Union) and asked what would be the interest rate for 10K or so. Given my good credit and the fact that I was already a member of that bank they offered an APR of 4.25%. When I went to the dealer (this was the one thing I didn't do via emails) I told them that my bank is offering me a 4% APR. Jeep offered 3.99% (duh...). I took their offer thinking that I should have said 3.5%! Financing is even more complicated |

Oops Rawb77, I must have posted right after you...
I am willing to trade 11 years (I am 35) for the slightly worse interest rate you got ... Eventually, the 2009 will be offered with 0% APR, but I couldn't wait any longer...

Well the reason why I got the interest rate I did was because of a few things:
1. I have perfect credit...but not Enough credit that merited buying a vehicle thus taking us to:
2. First vehicle, good credit, not enough credit = decent but not "great" interest rate.
3. Dad cosigned, he has perfect credit, and has since forever which means, i got the benefit of his credit to bring down my interest rate.
My dad has never paid higher than 4% on a vehicle...the dealership wanted to give me 10-12% on my own. Because he cosigned for me, we negotiated it at 6.5%
I still feel pretty proud of myself for negotiating my vehicled. The sticker price the dealership had on it was right under $26,000, we got it for much less than that, even after I bought the $2600 unlimited bumper to bumper warranty.

Just picked up an 09 wrangler X at dealer invoice. Then discounted another $1700 in incentives. oh, and the salesmen threw in a pair of JEEP rubber floor mats.
So sticker was @ $22,975. Paid $20,600. decent, I guess.
