| Why not a Jeep stock V8 from factory?
Why doesn't Jeep put as an option a V8 in it's Wrangler or other models ?

Grand Cherokee and Commander both have 4.7L & 5.7L V8 options... and the Grand Cherokee also has a 6.1L HEMI option

One of the reasons I can think of for not having a V8 option in the Wrangler is the need for different axles, and transmission. So the extra cost of having those upgrades would easily cost more than some of the more expensive Jeeps.

do you guys really think the new JK needs that much power? Maybe they can just provide a more powerful V6 or head back the the I6, but personally i'm content with the V6.

Short wheel base high center of gravity and high power are a nice mix for making a whole lotta dead people,

The 3.8 has enough power for a JEEP. If I wanted something fast with the JEEP name, I would have purchased a SRT-8 WK. The 4.0 will NEVER be back, as its so far from reaching tier 2 OBD II emissions its not even funny. I would not be surprised to see a 4.0 V6 though.......

i rather have V8 5.0 wrangler than a I6 4.0. It's more economic and has more power. I am yet interested to see a 10:1 compression ratio 4.0 wrangler that would be makin some wild power possibly in the high 250

Unfortunately in the last 17 years I've been doing that I've seen a number of kids that thought they could handle powerful vehicles spread their mangled bodies all over the highway.
That's not a pretty sight, it's an especially disturbing sight when you have kids of your own, it's even more disturbing when those kids take somebody elses family with them. Quote: |

| More power yes, more economic is debateable, it would depend entirely on how you drive it and what I've found over the years is that people with more power tend to want to use that power and blow their economy. Quote:

| Build it, 10:1 isn't undoable. expensive to feed but doable.
