What I got was not what I ordered!

OMG! this never happens!

He has a 100% positive feedback rating, so Ill open a ticket and hopefully get what I wanted....

And sometimes, they let you keep the incorrect item, which would go well on the '90!

Ok, ready for this?

Here is it, with my current setup, and me only really getting on it occasionally...

Im getting 20 MPG...

'93 4.0L HO, AX15, 4:10 gears, and 33's.
My speedo was verified with a GPS setup on my iPhone, and constantly verified for a week.

Im stumped, but happy....

My '90 2.5L with the same combo only got 14MPG, less with the top and doors off... BUT, due to power limitations, I was stuck in fourth on the freeway...

While at work im cutting the slotted area out of my old skid, to install into the new skid, this will allow me to "hide" the trans mount nuts so they attach through larger holes above the bottom of the skid plate.

Also while its slow at work, im putting the Tcase from the '90 together, I need to get that back on the road and ready to sell.

Adding Boom shackles wont help unless I modify them by removing the stock boom center bolt and moving it higher.

OR gettign springs with either a tighter mil wrap, or getting springs WITHOUT the mil wrap.

FYI: my springs came from an older Dick Cepek 3.5" lift kit.
They give me a somewhat rough ride, and only got 2/5 good reviews.
I liked them for a LONG time on my '90, but after the swap, Im starting to think it might be time to upgrade to some softer springs.
Dont get me wrong, these springs can flex, and im sure they will flex MORE with longer shackles, but... well....

see for yourself:
thats what mine freaking does....hate it. lemme know whhhhatttttt uuuuuuu figure out

While I was working on the above posts attempt, I also had an inner and outer window scrubber I had bought before the '90 got totaled, so I tossed them on while I had the door apart...

No pictures today, but I did change out the fluid in my AX-15.
Some asshat had installed GEAR OIL, it stank as it came out.

It was CLEAN like it was recent...

I filled it with Synchromesh, and HOLY SH!T! its like a whole new Transmission!
It shifts like butter, and Im thinking it will get better as the Synchromesh seeps into every nook and cranny...

Anyways, thats it, I did do some work on my old '90 today, im trying not to procrastinate on it, and with one day a week, I do what I can...

Got a day off, doing SOMETHING, I was going to install my Boomerang shackles, but decided to wait a week.
instead I looked at my old Rotopax fuel can mount, still bent from the accident, and decided to get this back into working order.

But, it was bent!

So, I had to cut away some of the bent area, and rework the mount area...

I got it all mounted, and installed the cans, and it wasnt going to work, the cans were a tad weighted towards toe now open area that was cut out on the driver side, and cut on the passenger side to match...

So, I went to Hone Depot (nothing else was open), and after searching, found something just under 4" that would fit under the back of the mount, spacing it out so the top of the tank mount wouldn't push the tanks towards the cut out areas...

3" pipe coupler, I WISH it was metal, but it wasnt...
I had to cut it down to 1" and thank God it was big enough to make 2 out of...

Might have to re-do it with 4" exhaust pipe, I have a muffler shop that is 2xs friendly that could help with this if the plastic piece fails....

Mounted both cans, and it works awesome!

Now I gotta get some time off to install my CB, Rocker guards, Paint my doors, tighten my Serp Belt, change my oil and fuel filter, Finish my Tcase mount holes and weld the bracket to my skid, and setup/install my 8.8...

Slowly im making progress, and working 6-10s....

Sorry stuff is not hapening too fast, I have loads of stuff to do, and no time, working 6-10s for a few more weeks, then I plan on this stuff I already have:

Jeep YJ Rocker Guards

Rubicon Express Part RE2775 - Shackle Rear Boomerang Greaseable 5€ YJ/Pair-WS2

LED dash upgrade, I have a BUNCH of white LED 194 bulbs left from my conversion on my '90, and really liked the visibility white puts out.

AND i have 2 6" LED spot lights on the way via:
Off Road LED Light Bars and HID Lights - SideTracked Offroad

I also need to devise a way to stop my 6x9s from rolling off my fender wells every time i take a moderately sized corner....

Then in my near future:

YJ Corner Guard 6061-T6 Aluminum
with LED rear tail light conversion

Prolly add some pocket flares on there too...

AND, of course, my 8.8 conversion is always in the works...

Dude you know if you ever need help with lights I'm always your guy

As for the 6x9's.... Why not make a bracket and bolt them in? You could weld some nutserts on the underside of the fender wells and run a couple of bolts through the speaker boxes (assuming you're using speaker boxes) with a strip of metal to reinforce the inside of the box.

Thanks man, I have wired up MANY lights before, the lights that came on thei YJ were hacked in, no fuse or relay, Im going to completly re-wire them, if I keep them, otherwise Ill drop these LEDs in their place.

Also thinking about getting 12" floods and mounting them somewhere near the top of the windshield, just need to figure out a good place that wont muck with the hard top on and off process...

Just messaged Barnes about thier aluminum corners, if they are ready, Ill be ordering tomorrow:
Jeep YJ Body Armor

AND I just ordered 2 of these:
Tactical Tomahawk M48 | OD Green
and One of these (NWS):
Search results for: 'overworked'

Ok, Pick ONE:

FLAT, pocket, TJ style (made for YJ) or other?

Photos are from Quadratech's website.

Im leaning towards the Bushwacker Flat, but after I finally decide, I will probablyu order YJ fronts and TJ rears....

I would go with the pocket flares myself. I saw a set of the flat flares on a tj a while back, and didn't care for them. That might have been because it was a tj though. The tj style don't look bad either. Curious what others say though
