Money has been TIGHT lately, but i just scored the first 3 gallon Rotopax can, its quality...
I figured if I space my setup out far enough I wont have to worry about the tailgate handle hitting anything, 1" should do it combined with the door handle cutout (which I have to re~size) and it will fit nicely, Im also adding a hole at the top to accommodate a CB whip (I already have a firestick from an older ZR2 years ago)...

Nothing fancy yet, but these cans are pricey!
Had to order the locking mounts so I can get 2 with the same key...

Give me a week or 2 for a mockup, but this pic is about where they will end up.

This is what I want to add to mine, but with a swingout tire carrier. Plus my highlight mounted inbetween the cans.

I have decided to put my spare inside, make/find a shorter rear seat, and make a custom Tonneau for summer...

OK, yes, went home and looked it up, the sport model came with the 3550.
Got about half way to pulling the input gear when I realized the 1550 was also in theese, but now I know its a 3550.

Before I left, I dumped the whole works in the back of a Geo... I know right where i left it.

" 01-04 Jeep Liberty 3.7L V6 bellhousing: Connects all to any 3.7L V6, 4.7L V8 and any 273/318/340/360 V8, Magnum 5.2\5.9 V8, 5.7L Hemi V8, and Jeep 2.8L CRD Turbo Diesel. (Requires use of an 10.5" flywheel.) "

So with this I can use the bell on it to swap in my 5.2L...(I think i might have to make a hole for the crank sensor...)

Ok, didnt get it, its a hair longer, LOADS louder, and the same bellhousing would be needed to adapt it as my AX15 to a 5.2L.

Did more research.....

I personally can't stand the look of a Jeep without the spare tire hanging off of the rear.

Seems the 2002 Jeep Liberty has JUST the belhousing I need for a decent swap....

01-03 Jeep Liberty 3.7L V6 bellhousing: Connects all to any 3.7L V6, 4.7L V8 and 5.7L Hemi V8.

And I JUST picked up a NV3550 with this bell on it....

Looks liek I may be able to go the Hemi route, but Ill probably still go the 5.2L route adn just swap the Bellhousing, Seems with all the people going with teh Hemi swap, this Bell might be worth something on E-bay......

hmmm... maybe I can use this with a 5.2... I might be closer to Xpress then I thought...

I have a friend in Redding thats a referee. If I cant get an appointment here, Ill run up there.

There is also a local sop that does Hemi conversions that can set me up.
Hemi Conversions, Parts, and Kits by JSS

I will probably start mine after summer, Im thinking all have mh shopping list compete by then.

Motor mounts, Doner vehicle (shooting for a V8 Dakota with a manual). and I should have my 8.8 in by then too.

I haven't found any Dakotas around here with the V8, not in my price range. Seems like there's a whole heap of Cherokees that are beaters but run fine and pass smog.

Any particular reason to go with the Dakota over a Cherokee?

Only because it will give me a bolt on bellhousing, clutch and computer that I wont have to reprogram out the automatic side...
How much is a reflash anyways?

Ok, got me a NV3550 out of a 02 Liberty at the local Pick&Pull about a month ago.

Got my Bellhousing today, along with the full hydrolic setup, arm and bearing out of a 94 Dakota with a V6 External slave, spent $50 for it all (including 2wd AX15).

WHY did I get this Bell? the one I had from the liberty had NO hole for the Crank sensor.... Figure I can E-bay it for a HEMI swap, or bolt it to the 4WD AX-15 I have for someone else doing a HEMI swap...

Now all I need as a 5.2 in a donor and the motor mounts.

Update, got a 12" 400WATT BOSS sub from millionbuy.com WHY DOES IT ALWAYS STINK when I run it LOUD? Anybody?

The sub is brand new?

If it is, you need to break it in. That means don't hit it so hard, run it softly. The smell will go away in time. Either that or it is the blue smoke of death that you are smelling.

It doesnt smell like my old blown sub, that one smelled like a bad Cat Converter, this one smells like wires, or maybe hot glue melting, but its not going away (I have been babying them for a week while commuting, but the top is coming off soon and i LOVE playing LOUD and BAAS while driving like that).

I read they dont sell subs that need to be broken in anymore, too many people are warrantying them because they want to play hem hard out of the box.

Oh, and I decided to put the spare back on the tailgate, mounting my gas cans on them, it will be trick and CHEAPER then that clusterfu(k I was going to do before (plus I get to keep the room for my subs)...

Any speaker needs to be worn in. The membrane that supports the speaker cone has to wear in properly, otherwise it can cause extra resistance in the magnet and can actually fray and tear.

The smell you are smelling is something frying. Fried electronics smells like high temp hot glue or melting wires. You have to give it time to wear in.

Rotopax Spare mount, 33" spare, CB antenna mount, and spare relocation bracket (necessary to retain my bumper).

Check, ALL I have left to do is make the plate that mounts 2 3 gallon cans, I have 2 lock pack mounts with the same key, one is installed, need the place to complete it.

Still have the 8.8, in fact the warmer weather is giving me a nice kick to get back going on this stuff (I need a break for the flips Im continually doing).
Still have the NV3550 and Tcase, waiting for the right Donor car to come my way with a 5.2L and a manual.

And before you razz me, I know im missing one lug on the spare mount, I know my Jeep wont fit in my garage with the antenna mounted, and I know my spare doesnt match.......

Im also not too happy with all the space between my spare and my Jeep, like 3" and its bugging me, but it did give me a great place for the antenna....

That spare tire doesn't match the rest, you're missing a lug on the spare, and the antenna is far too tall for your Jeep to fit in the garage!!

-----

That's a hell of a lotta weight on the tailgate though. Plans for a tire carrier?

That wheel weighs less then the stock steel spare with a P205 that was on it.
I might pit a full bumper spare carrier combo on it after I do my engine swap, unless I find a cheap used one on CL.

Looks like you have a lot of great things going on! I am slowly looking for a 5.3 or 6.0 donor vehicle for my next mods.
