Ill probably add to this as I do stuff, and if anyone wants detail about something, just ask and Ill follow up with more detail.

I sold my Durango, made a good amount of cash on it so I have some extra green to spend on my Jeep.

Pics are taken with my cell camera...

OK, I was BORED at work today, so instead of troll the forums I decided to get some work done I have been procrastinating on.

I had theese for about 3 weeks, bought a set of LED tails off Amazon.com with LED Lite-n-bolts.
Ill add a flood light later for a backup light.
Before:

Now:

And here is how I did my tag light:

Yesterday, I finally replaced my front bumper, its been messed up since I bought it 4 years ago, its a Smittybuilt Classic with the D ring mount setup:

And I bought a security console, friggin didn't come with the mount kit, so its sitting on a 4x4 for now. Smittybuilt again, they sure make lots of stuff I like.

Looking at Slip Yoke Eliminators.
Im really impressed by the JB Super Short, and since ill be engine swaping later to a GM 4.3 or 5.0/.7L this would work in my favor. and Yes I know ill need to replace my speedometer with an electric programmable one.

JB Conversions, Inc.

has anyone done this swap and how did it go?

Just ordered this: 450920 Diff Cable Lock Kit Jeep Wrangler YJ 3-6" | eBay

Wife nagged and complained until I FINALLY bought the new front bumper cover and left front fender to fix her Neon that I crashed.

Because I ordered the Neon stuff, I missed closing time at JB Conversions. This means I have to wait till Monday to order my Tcase SYE:
JB Conversions, Inc.

Im hoping Sunday I can make it to the Pick-&-Pull and buy a Ford 8.8 I seen from a Exploder, and I hope the gears are 4:10....

When I actually have all that stuff, and another month passes by, I can buy the e-brake and install cluster%*#$ stuff to install the 8.8:
Emergency Brake Cable for YJ 1987-1995

Jeep Axle swap for Ford 8.8 Axle on Jeep YJ 1987-1995
UNLESS I CAN GET THE SPRING MOUNTS ALONE (Ill be using the rest of the stock 8.8 hardware).

and an electric speedometer:
437-153 - VDO Vision Black Series Gauges: Speedometers (electronic) - egauges.com

with all that, its time to do some wrenching/bolting grinding, and welding, then measure and order the rear driveshaft... then Ill be all set to handle the GM V8 swap

About $940, my cost after this....

Before I got my Stak case I used the JB conversion SS SYE. Install is easy, have a good set of snap ring pliers follow instruction which are well written. Love how you were able to flip the tie rod on top didnt know that was possible with out rod ends.

Forgot to add, 4W Parts got me the mount kit for the console, its mounted normally now.

The JB SSYE is on hold, waiting for me to find the right Ford 8.8, and Waggy springs.
and Im pretty sure i found a better/cheaper quality source for 8.8 conversion hardware.

Im also slowly swapping out the ugly (IMO) spice interior, got a friend that will paint my hard top black for materials....

I was at the local Pick&Pull today, its half off weekend, and the ONLY reason I didnt grab a Ford 8.8 was because I knew it wouldnt fit in the back on my Jeep
I was looking for parts for my wifes Yukon (Interior trim, starter and TPS).
It was sitting in a 96 Exploder only thing holding it in was it was wedged in by a compressed leaf spring.
Backing plates were tweaked, rotors were missing, but the rest was there...

Now that the Yukon is fixed, Ill go tomorrow and HOPE its still there.

$75 for a complete 8.8 is a steal, especially with 4:10s

If I get it, Ill post up some pics, diff cover tag, and door tag, whatever else I decide to take a snap of.

Went back Monday for the 8.8, it was gone, damm vultures!

Instead, I finally installed my posi lock kit (Alloy USA's version).

Started with he handle mount bracket:

After about an hour of measuring and crawling around my Jeep trying to find a decent way to route the cable while keeping it out of the engines way, yes I looped it, mostly because I had the room, didnt want to interfere with anything (I also routed it behind the steering column so the clutch pedal arm would have room to fully engage without contacting the cable at all), and I didnt want it to kink at all:

Removed the stock actuator, removed the shift fork and verified it was all good, assembled the new actuator and sealed the vent (my vent was on the pumpkin assembly:

Since I dont have a 4x4 light, i just zip-tied the harness out of the way.

Installed the cable, adjusted it as best as I could, bolted it down and tested it, all done! I can feel the gears engauge, leaving enough pull after they engage so I know both gears have enough overlap. this will not pop out, and if it does it can easily be adjusted....

I did not feel the need to get into more detailed install instructions, the instructions that came with the unit are more then adequate, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me and I can go into further detail.

Next mod im going to move my CD out of the dash into my Smitty Stereo console, and add a 12V power supply there for my Iphone.

Something is in the works....

Spent the day at Pick&Pull, found something I have been looking for for a while....
This is the one I saw last week, and thought it was gone, I had the Yukon today so grabbed it!

With this in mind, its an OPEN carrier, so im thinkin EZ locker, or a Lock Rite....
This way I dont have to set it up again, and still gt a locker.

Also, I do need to order new backing plates, pads, shoes, and rotors, then the mounting kit....

I thought I posted this here, might have gotten distracted, its in the "what i did to my YJ today" thread, but here it is:

Took the roll bar padding off, it has never been off since it was new, and after it was off I found a great place for my Wranglerforum.com decal.

Now im ready to remove my hard top (tonight after work), Spidershade should be here today too!

Here are my daytime pics

Im thinking about getting a bumper tomorrow for the rear, match the front, but with a hitch....

Also thinking about having my paint fixed, cut and polish to bring the red back, last quote was $200, and I hate body/paint work...

So, i have decided the Spiderwebshade basically sucks.

The straps in the back of the side bars dont stay in place, causing bad freeway flapping and noise (not as bad as your normal bakini would make, but enough to cause annoyance.
ALSO, they dont cover enough, if I could get 2 more inches across (1" per side) and 3 more inches backward, with a better mounting setup I would love it!

reference the pics in my past post.

the ONLY thing I like about it is you can keep it mounted with your Hard Top installed.

I wish, Hell, I only get 14MPG, wish there was a magic superhighmileage mod...

Currently the best mod I know is to add power, INSTALL A HEMI!
Im too broke to try it though.....

If you got a manual try driving around without going above 2k rpm ! You'll get over 20 mpg!! I do it.. Works well.. And I only got a 2.5L.. Just drive slow and enjoy the ride.. Leave a few minutes earlier

Sorry, freeway commute, id get a ticket....

5th is already useless, even down hill with a strong tailwind, in 5th it slows down....

Besides, I dont mind 14MPG
