4 low...

Had my '91 YJ lifted 2 1/2" with the transfer case spacers, all seems ok, but, I don't think it's going into 4 low. 4high and neutral is fine, but, hoiw can I tell if it truly is in 4 low ? I think I read here somewhere that after a lift sometimes the transfer case shifter hits the floor opening or something like that. Before i tear that apart, I'd like to know if there's a way to really tell if it's going into 4 low. Thanks in advance.

So you know it works in 4 hi and you know it goes into neutral but you don't know if it is going into 4low? When you pull the transfer case lever back one more spot that will be 4 low. Have you ever had your jeep in 4 low? Do you know what the low gear feels like?

4 high... Hold brakes and tap gas.. Raise up some rev a little... 4 low... Hold brakes and tap gas... Rev up some and jump forward cause the brakes can't hold...

Ok. No problem then we can help. When you pull the transfer case shifter back past neutral, what happens?

It stops, like I've got it all the further back.

Ok. Try pushing down on the t-case shifter going from neutral to 4 low. If that does not work try moving the shifter slightly to the passenger side and back.
