88 yj build begins

My dad gave me his 88 wrangler which is in pretty rough shape.
Ill be fixing it up for my boys to drive during their teen
Years. I know I had a blast in it during mine. Itinerary is
New tranny which will be converted from ba10 to ax15.
Needs rear seal in motor and new oil pan.
Replace bad hard top with soft.
All new weather stripping. (Everywhere)
Paint job
MC 2150 carb ordered on way
Nutter bypass? Need info
Jeep does run now however hard to start in cold
Weather. All advise pointed me to a guy that builds
Carbs for jeeps out of colorado. I need any thoughts,
Advise, experiences etc. anyone can give me. Especially
On the bypass or tranny swap. Ive read threads but
Use any tips. Thanks

Get several cans of PB Blaster. It's a must for anyone working on a YJ. It may keep you from losing your temper when you're trying to remove old bolts and nuts. Are you in West Memphis, AR? If so, you may have some luck on Craigslist when looking foe parts, there should be several donors in the Memphis area. Good luck.

I'm about 2 hours from you. I check the Memphis and Jackson, TN CL daily, if I see anything you might be interested in I'll let you know.

Do a little searching on the MC2100 carb swap. It is a very common replacement. If you want to spend a few more dollars, look in to the Howell fuel injection system.
