Nice man, makes me miss my islander. Sold it a few months ago.

Mine was the blue they replaced that light blue with, Navajo metallic turquoise, man did i get a lot of flack for that color. Be careful or people will start calling you Smurf Rider... Ask me how I know.

So you painted it black yourself? Rustoleum or did you get it powder coated?

Thanks for sharing... I dig it.

Mind if I ask for more pics of that swing arm? Especially from the side? I'm curious how it looks from the side and how far it sticks out. Thanks man... I appreciate it. I think I might go with it.

Did you ever get your spare tire problem fixed? You made me start thinking should all of us with large tires on the back have a safety chain
on our tires? so they don't come off and hit some one, from the look of some of your pictures you go on some rough trails, you can't expect everything to hold together can you?

I would just reweld it up and she'll be much stronger.

What size of tires and wheels do you have Donny and is that a RC 4" lift? If so I have the same lift just haven't placed the decal on the windshield yet. Kinda worried it will be in the way for my line of sight. You know what I mean?

Yes, I WOULD expect everything to hold together. These things are/should be built for rough terrain.
The safety chain is a good idea. I have one on my rack now, but its there more to prevent theft. Never thought about the added benefit of keeping the tire from bouncing down the street because, quite frankly, I shouldn't have to think about that.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not talking about a 20 year old tire swing. Looks like this one that broke is fairly newer. And in my opinion, this is unacceptable. Probably just a poor weld, and I'd believe that it might've just been a freak occurrence. Still scary though.

I, too, have the RC decal on my windshield and never even see it. It's not a distraction in the least.

That's unbelievable! Its a good thing no one was hurt. And I too think a safety chain sounds like a good idea now.

I think when I put it back together I will add a safety chain, just I think to make me feel better. (if that tire would have hit some one or even a motorcycle I think that could effect some one for the rest of their lives) The swing was new maybe a few months old, most likely a bad weld, but still should not of happened!

Do you think I should use a chain for extra protection

I'm new here and was just browsing around when I saw you were in Squamish. I was immediately interested since my wife and I were up that way one year for our anniversary. It's a Beautiful area and the view from the top of the Stawamus Chief was epic! Oh...and I've enjoyed the build thread too...Nice work!
