If you are going to spend money on a Warn winch, get something bigger than a 2500lb. You will be very unhappy when you use it the 1st time cause you are stuck and it burns up.

I realize that you think because you have a YJ that only weighs 2500lbs, that's all the more winch that you need. That would work if you were on flat ground and you weren't stuck in anything.

A good rule of thumb is 2 1/2 times the weight of what you want to pull with the winch. So 2 1/2 X 2500 = 6250. So it would be an 8000lb winch.

keep it simple, some seat covers, make your front seats match.

If you want to spend some coin, get the header for the 2.5L, have the exhaust shop wrap the pipe around the front of the oil pan so later lifts wont cause front driveshaft interference.

Flush tail light conversions always look slick, and add LED dash lights to brighten up the gauges!

You listed as a future mod a custom tire rack with fuel jug mount, you have the bumper swingout tier mount already (from your pics anyways), get the Rotopax mount:

Olympic 4x4 Products 991-404 - Olympic 4x4 Products RotopaX Spare Tire Mounting Bracket - Quadratec

and add a 3 gallon Rotopax can (example on page 3? of my '90 build thread linked in my sig, you can also see the tail light mod I mentioned above).

This is what I would do if I owned your Jeep!

Question, do you live in an emissions state? and is that a KICKSTAND in your first pic? (i thought it looked odd).
EDIT:I see in your second to last pic you are in Cali (by the temp reg in the back window)... so you might not be able to get away with the exhaust mod, but there ARE smog legal headers available). (where in Cali are you? you can PM me if you prefer).

Good looking Jeep & good looking list. Basic upkeep goes a long way with these Jeeps. They're getting old.

Agree on the winch. 2500 is way too small. I've burned those up pulling ATV's out of the creek. You would roast one trying to pull a stuck Jeep.

Looks like you're making progress with the old gal. Speak of the devil , I need to change my fuel filter as well.

I'm not sure on different e-fan setups for the YJ's because I havent crossed that bridge yet, but they do make thermostats that will turn them on & off via temperature. Most parts houses have them or can get them. Alternatively, you can get them on line as well.

Keep up the good work. I'll be changing rear U joints when I get home from work. Mine started chattering after the lift.
