I'm looking at bed lining my 93 street legal rock crawler. I have been looking around at a lot of different brands and I'm fine with "do it yourself" I know a thing or 2 about body work but I want to know what the best brand is. I have lined a few things before and they all ended up getting mud stained or faded after the first ride. I want something that is going to not fade out and also not chip or peel if branches get up against it, Something that will last.... Thanks!
Monstaliner.. Search it and skim through the 700 page thread on JF. They offer many colors and a 5 year warranty. It has UV protection in it as well which is what you definitely want if you're going to be driving it all the time. You don't want your fresh paint/liner job to fade within the first year of having it lol.
Alright thanks! But I want to get some opinions from someone who has actually used the stuff I have used at lease 3 different brands in the past and they all said different stuff about how good it was and it ended up being crap. I'm not sure if you have ever had to take some of this liner off but it is one big pain in the ass and I don't really want to do it again
I am using raptor liner right now. I am doing the interior and exterior. I love how easy it is to use. It is tintable with an automotive paint. I am using viper red.
Thanks Gregg, To do the top took me 2 bottles to complete the outside of top, I painted the inside white with paint. I'll never use the top but it looks great sitting in my garage! Lol!
Brachilius... I went through your build thread. Very cool.... Your photo of your hood with the raptor liner, pretty much made up my mind for my Renegade inside and out. The only change i'll make is getting Al's HNR for the inside and raptor line over it. What a great forum and exchange of ideas!
I used the only stuff from Home Depot I could fine. Turned out really great, did everything from the dash to the interior
Here's before/after. After about 3 months, some of it has rubbed off in obvious places like where your foot is on the gas and heavy wear in the back. It also allows you to leave your car out without worrying about rain/dirt as you can just wash it clean out. Probably one of the best things you can do for the value and protection of your car
That makes Sense. I may do the hood like you did, but think i am going to stay red throughout the jeep. All hardware/hinges will be black (not sure if i will do Raptor on them or continue with Satin Black). My biggest decion then will be what color tint. Keep it "fire" red and pull the pain codes, or something deeper. I love these type of decisions.
