looking good, love the dash

I love the dash idea. I am building a 89 yj and cut my dash on a waterjet. I really dislike the yj platic dash.

This how my dash turned out after powder coating.

Jegs

Jegs is putting up a good fight with Summit, Great delivery time with both of them.

This showed up today...

Working on the Tracker throttle body tonight, I just want to get this thing done. All my buddy's are wraping up their winter projects and I haven't even started putting mine together.

The goal is to have the YJ together and the bugs worked out by August 23-24th for Trucks Gone Wild in Hale Michigan.

Off beat here on the YJ build. I think I have the TBI on the tracker figured out, we will see.

I got a very cool FREE old wood stove today.

Update, not very exciting. The Tracker is out of the garage and it's not wanting to start...I'm thinking bad gas.

Did a dry fit on the Lokar shifter.

Great Day

Got the tracker running. Ended up I was off on the distriburtor placement. Just need to finish the exhaust and bleed the brakes and she's on the road.

With the Tracker almost out of the way, today I got the garage picked up , the YJ moved back over so I'm thinking next weekend I can pull the dummy block/trans out and get good stuff in.

Not Happy

This dam Tracker is really messing with the YJ build. Starts right up but tons of white smoke, it's coolant.

I trust the guy I bought the motor from, Ya know when you meet someone new and you can tell they are a good, honest person...this guy is great. So I don't think it's the head gasket, I'm gonna do a compression check tomorrow. I think it's the intake manifold gasket to the head. Any suggestions?

So my plan is to put the good stuff in the YJ this weekend and get it on the trailer and tarp it so I can get the tracker back in the garage.

I shouldn't complain, but we are very busy at work launching new programs and my kids Track season just started.

Life is Good!

Funny you ask, I was searching around today on lunch and I think I'll go with one from JEGS. I think it was $120.

Meanwhile, the Tracker is still outside and it's raining. Daughter has a track meet tomorrow night, so I hope the weather is good this weekend so I can get back at it.

Yea, did the compression test 1,2 & 4 had 180 and #3 had 95 which led me to be a bad exhaust valve, but it checks out good. Just gonna clean it all up and put it back together. 1.6L engines are not my forte but I'll figure it out....

Sorry ass update

Kids have Track meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and my daughter has Prom and my son has tickets to a MSU Baseball game on Saturday.

This is not helping the Tracker let alone the YJ build. And the grass needs cut and the Morels should be popping up

Some progress on Sunday

Had a good day Sunday on the YJ, got the mockup stuff out..

After 1 hour looking for the gaskets, got the adapter hooked up and found a problem....

I need to fab up a new rear bracket due to the adapter.

Then I had the wrong torq converter bolts so here it sits.

Thats all for now.

Minor problems

Ok, the problem is I got the motor mounted up too high so now the headers hit the body mounts so I cut them here....

I cut both front and back... and they still hit....

and the mufflers will hit the middle one also...

This is how much I'm off...

Since it has a 2" body lift, the plan is to cut the current brackets off and fab some out of 2" square stock and weld them on top of the frame, I think that will work.....

This is an amazingly good build thread. I am going to be following this build now as I'm doing a similar build as I continue to use it as a DD.
