I see, I've been trying to decide what I want to use. cant justify novak price and I'm always uneasy about ebay stuff. Thought about trying to see if a s10 or Camaro one would fit. Im not planning on near the hp you are lol. Just a plain ol 305.

I hear ya on the Novak prices, so I rolled the bones and we will see. Summit and Jegs have universal radiators also. Good Luck.

Nothing HUGE to report but I did start the body lift replacement bracket that will be welded on top of the frame.

I hope you see where I'm going with this idea....

I believe I follow you on this fix, are you gonna put another small body mount bushing on top of the 2"x2". Or hard mount the body straight to the frame?

No, this will replace the current. I will use the factory "puck" between these and the body.

Got the driver side mount cut off tonight.

This is what I'm doing... the factory bushing is not where it should be, it's just holding the 2x2 in place.

I have to make some gussets but I'll clear the headers.

Finished the stand for my "bench grinder". Easy to move.

Need to add some gussets and I think they will do

Got the headers on (for the night) I was worried they might hit the steering, cleared

Had an Idea for these...

Put one here..

And one here

Engine location looks pretty good - have you confirmed clearance with your radiator/fan set up on the front end of the engine?

I am getting closer to locating my engine (400 SBC) and always interested in what the hard points are for best location.

I haven't checked on the radiator clearance yet, I will this weekend. I set my engine with 2" clearance between the distributor and the firewall.

Great build! Just curious, what made you go with the auto transmission?

I think the auto will be better in the mud. After the 383 is in, the plan is SOA eventually running 38's or 39's.

Had a great day weather wise to straighten up the garage, rolled everything out to clean...
It seemed my engine placement worked 4" clearance

Time for a few beers...

That radiator clearance looks great. I can not recall were you going electric fan? It looks like as long as the fan motor is not in line with water pump pulley you should be in great shape.

Novak advised me that I should plan to have 8" between the grille surface and the water pump pulley to get their radiator and shrouded electric fan set up in and it looks like you probably are close to that.

Your distributor looks just like mine as well so I may be looking to place my engine in about the same location as you have yours.

I didn't want to get the distributor any closer than 2" to the fire wall. I'm leaning towards using a Ford Taurus fan from the junk yard or one from Jegs. Cheaper than Novak!
