Yea, I guess I'll start another yj slow build. I'm doing a 2.5L to a sbc 383 stroker. This is the first time doing anything like this so any tips will respected. (remember..I said sllooww)opcorn:
It looked like this when i got it.
Then like this.
When it came in the garage after 2nd gear went.
When 2nd gear went.
My son wrenching.This 350 I bought for $150 ended up being a 2 bolt.:nonono:
Ordered the Stroker kit today. I did go with the Scat Series 9000. Summit couldn't ship until 9/17 so I went to Jeg's who ship today.
Not sure what motor mounts I will use Novak or AA, Hoping to order them in the morning.
Found a th400 for $200 that I hope to pick up this week.
After doing alot of looking last night on the motor mounts and the $$ they want I've decided to make my own.:whistling: AA and Novak want between $130-200. I found a build over on pirate4x4 and he made some sweet ones. I think i can make them for $50 bucks! unk:The Scat kit will be here tomorrow and I'll drop it off at the machine shop on monday. Waiting for parts so I decided to remove the stock dash. I'm not sure if I'm just gonna cover it with aluminum (the easy way) or make a mold and do a custom fiberglass layup. Maybe if I go the fiberglass route and it turns out good...I could sell em!:thumb:
Dirty from the last trip to the Mounds with the 2.5
Ordered the kit for the th400 to the NP231J. Seem's to be my NP231J (numbers on the tag ) happens to be a NP207 based on pictures I've found. :banghead:Am I missing something?
NP 231 23 spline found for $150. The adapter kit doesn't ship till the first week of October.....I said this was going to be a slow build....working on the mold for the new dash.
Had to replace my furnace AND hot water heater today:banghead: This hurt's the wallet...I have to keep the wife calm so I can keep the build going.
Looks good! Cant wait to see how that mold comes out. You're going to love that Aveneger Carb, had it on my old 92 k1500 383 stroker, 5-spd manual. When floored, that thing SCREAMED when the throttle was wide open :]
Got distracted from the build. I agreed to let an exchange student join our household. Should be back on the mold tomorrow and pop it of sunday..if any one gives a crap.
Got the dash splash off today, got some clean up and prep work and then I'll start the layup.
