My backspacing is dicked up also. My tires rub my leafs when I turn really tight. Bu I'm gonna get some 1/2" wheel spacers for the front and 1" for the rear.

Add to your steering stops to stop the rubning. Not saying don't get spacers... wider is better but for now.

Then started cleaning up the housing. I have never seen anything rust like this. It looked like they didn't clean the sand off from the factory and it started rusting and it left a very hard shell all over...... I had to use an air chisel to get it off. Under all that crud it looked like new money. Then I used a rust converter. I took a few pics so you could see how it dries.

Looks good. Fortunately for me mine wasn't rusted so bad. I did clean what was there off then used a "rust converter" paint. Turned out nice. But looks likeyou went all out on yours. 

Painted the axles, installed the springs and installed the rear end. Still waiting on my Jeep to Ford adapter. I hope it shows up tomorrow. But anyway, here's some eye candy for you picture-mongers.......

Removed the wedges which should level the Bird up with the 8.8......

Nothing is welded up yet. I have everything centered but gotta get that last piece to the puzzle.

Make sure you get the right one flange. I either ordered the wrong one or they sent me the wrong one. It fit the u joints wouldn't work. Unless I needed a special one? Idk either way I had to have it yesterday, so u ended up using a flange out if a mustang and it fit perfect, and I ha it laying around. So I wasted $30 on a useless flange.

Hey bird did you say you were doing ladder bars on yours? I was thinking about building some but would like some insight on pros and cons.

The distance on a D35 from the center line of the axle to the mounting surface of the spring perch is about 1/2" shorter than my 8.8.......So had I not removed the shim I would only be getting about 3 1/2 inches of lift on the back.........Make sense?

Not planning on ladder bars. Not sure why you would need them but if you really want them and want to get full usage of your springs you should try these. This is what I have for my 57.......

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CalTr...ht_1856wt_1165

These will give your springs full function, easy to make your own and won't let your rear end wrap up.

With the weight of the Jeep on the rear axle my drive shaft angle ended up being 18 degrees with my pinion angle being 16 degrees.

Cut about 2" off of all the U-bolts.

Tacked the perches on the rear end and then pulled it out.

And now I gotta clean this mess up...........

Got all the brackets tacked on. I'm gonna take it to my shop to weld everything up solid.

Pulled the bumpers off so I can start designing up my new ones......

I wasn't able to use the shock tabs I got from ruffstuff. My shock was to big and the and I couldn't get that tab low enough to use, so I ended up using my stock ones and theyre out of the way and work. So I'm happy.

No, I'm glad you said something. By the time I rolled them around enough for my clearance on the tube they would have bottomed out really easy. I found some off of a super-duty and I think they will work nicely.

I don't even have mine on the road yet but I know several people that are happy with them. There is no possible way they could sag back to where they were. The spring would have to bend to do that because in a straight line they are much longer. I'll keep you posted though........

I have a RC 4" lift. No problems at all, bent a spring on the trails, called them up and emailed them a pic, they sent me a free spring no charge. And that's another good thing lifetime warranty for free! Just a FYI also call them and you'll more than likely get free shipping. Me and my pops did.
