94 YJ (Blue Bird) Build

Thought I would start this Build thread and document everything I do. Here is the before and we'll see where it goes. This picture makes Blue Bird look much better than she actually is. I'll keep you posted and post plenty of pics......

Ripping her apart.

The worst part but I'll fix it.

More damage back here during the wreck.

Isn't this suppose to be straight.

Wheel cylinders had been leaking and there wasn't any brake fluid in the rear brakes at all!!!This rear end put a a fierce fight.

I've had the 57 for many years. Been too busy working on everyone else's stuff to get it done. Decided I'm gonna get this jeep reliable before I work on anyone else's stuff........

OK guys, been really busy. Got the front end ready to paint. Checked the front axles and found the driver side was bent so I used the one out of the other D30 I bought. Got the axles sandblasted and waiting to put the u-joints in tomorrow. Bought me an 8.8 so I gotta start tearing it apart and cutting off all of the brackets to weld on the new. Stay tuned.....

I need some new dust covers for the disc brakes on the 8.8. If anyone know where I can buy them let me know. I'll post some pics of the painted front housing in a little bit. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm still looking for them. I used an air descaler, then wiped everything down with solvent, then used a metal prep that is my home made concoction (3 parts water with 1 part vinegar) works great on all bare metal, then shot it with epoxy primer and then going over it with acrylic enamel chassis black but I like to use the high gloss because it is so much easier to keep the mud cleaned off.

Damn wish I had the supplies to do that. Looks like I'm gonna be using a flapper wheel wire wheel and so elbow grease. Then spray bomb. Lol
