Hey great build, could you tell me how you did your brake lines? did you get a kit or do them yourselfs? they look like rubber hosing and thats what i'm trying to go for cause i dont want to spend the money on steel braided lines. trying to get pointed in the right direction cause as of now my lines aren't long enough to go wheeling. Thanks for the help. pictures would be nice if its not too much effort, if not its cool.
well.. you can buy the Rock crawler steel braided line for like 40 $.. It's going to have all the lenght you need. I have the 8.8 so it;s kinda a diff line set up. But i used.. A softline on each side.. Ran to hard lines up to the pumkin then a ROCK CRAWLER steel braided line from the pumkin to the hard lines on the frame.
rubber to hard..
Rubber to hard The both hard lines ran to pumkin to a Steel braided.. I would say my way wasnt the cheepest.. I just wanted the most flex.
heres the Steel braided from the pumkin to the hard lines that go to the booster
front axle.. You just have to get extended lines.. Mine are crown extended lines and there plenty long for almost 11 inches of lift. Or you can re do your hard lines and make them come down further. But that is a pain in the but I redid mine becuse I had no front clip on nd I could get to them easy
pic of front break looking down on the axle from the fender area

What are your guys opinion of rear winches? I have my 9000 lbs badlands winch (harbor freight) I just got it working again. And I already have the warn up front. Were is a good mounting spot? I know im going to have to make my own bracket.. I was thinking in the tub.. and cutting a whole out of my tailgate and mounting the roller on the tailgate. I know I could only pull from not to much angle or it will bend my gates but.. I probably wont need to use it all that often anyways
how would your tailgate work if the winch was on the tub and the fairlead on the tailgate? it'd be cool if there was a way to mount to the bumper right below the spare tire, just dont know how you'd be able to bolt it in a strong place. thought about getting one of the mount plates with the handles and that can mount into the 3" reciever hitch, you'd save weight.
yeah hmm, its hard with the yjs. I've seen jks with their huge thick bumpers fit the winch all the way down in the bumper completely concealed. But i bet if you can tow people out with the bumper you'd be fine with a winch on it.
Going to Start making Some new Rock sliders tomorrow! I think I have A design thought up.. Any opinions on what thickness of steel to use? I dont want it ridiculously heavy. I dont hit much Rocks just tree stumps and logs kick up.
Dropped my jeep off at the shop today to get a exhast system put on.. Going two pipes and exhasts right after the crossmember then dumping them. While the Jeep is in there I decided to fab Up some better rockergaurds becuse my lil botch job i did before was so terrible. Heres some of the metal. I got the tubes bent from a local shop. paid about. 70 in metal including bending and 20 in hardwhere.
some of the metal
Now i took the peace and took a whole saw and made a whole evry 5 Inches for design and also it will help with a little bit of the mud from flying into my front windsheild from the back tire im hopeing I went threw two BI metal hole saws btw.. And alot of tapping oil
Got the other Rocker panel all done up. Drilled all the holes for the bolts in each rocker guard to. 18 grade 5 bolts will be holding each panel to the side of my jeep. Tomorrow I'm going to primmer the front side of the panel and Start painting it. Then im going to clamp the gaurd to jeep and drill the holes threw the tub
ok.. so the chaos starts... Heres what the intake ports look like
here are the two adaptor plates I have
The holley is about +1 inch bolt pattern
here is the adaptor that i need... but! It is impossible to bolt on. It's hard to explain
I can tighten the carb onto the plate but then cant get to the bolts to put the adpator to the manifold.
this is the style of adapter i need.. This one will bolt on but the bottom is not wide enough for the intake ports and also were my finger is pointing to is exposed intake.. because of the base of the adapter not being big enough
this was a test fit to see if the hood would even close. It did barley
in the process of hooking it all back up is this the.. full manifold vaccum port? I'm trying to hook it all up and i think I'm getting in right correct me if you see somthing wrong please!
ok the holley has a electric choke. Do I just wire it into the battery? OR do I have to go threw some ignition switch er something? It didn't say to well in the directions. I thought all it needed is 12volt power to the positive cable
Ok, this is something else I am also very familiar with.
1) Have you found an adapter that fits right yet? I don't see correct adaptor in any of the pictures. There is actually an adaptor that is made to adapt a Holley style four barrel carb to a QuadraJet style intake manifold. If not, I have a spare I'll never use that I will send overnight mail if you need it.
2) You will need to connect the positive wire for your electric choke to a source that is controlled on & off by your ignition switch. If not, your choke will stay open & will not do it's job. When you turn your ignition on, a coil inside of it will star expanding, thus slowly opening the choke as your motor warms up, then when you turn the ignition off, it will allow the choke to close again for the next cold start-up.
3) You can just plug off the thermal lines that run off of the intake beside the carb. since you are switching to a Holley with an electric choke.
94 Jeep YJ Wrangler SE / 4.0L I-6 Engine ---- SOLD in February of 2014 ---- Now I am running a Frankenstiened tube chassis Rock Buggy
Im running to the store right now to check there adaptors right now. If they don't have one i will let you know. I was looking at New manifolds last night because im pretty sure my gaskets are bad sense I have a rough idle
