Wipped up some quick and dirty seat mounts. In the next couple weeks I will be doing the cage, and the seats will be mounted to that. This was because I dont wanna sit in my old ones any longer

Chris you definitely score the most points for amount of quality home built mods, money saved, and time "flexed".
Love this Jeep build.

How is the seat belt? Can you run it on the outside with those seats? I love the seat just wondering about the belts. Looks good!

Thanks guys. I try my best to make everything. Most of the time it works out lol.

The stock belts work suprisingly well. Im gonna wait till i Do the cage to put the harnesses in, as I can play with the mounting points easier.

Tonight I welded end caps on bumper/tied to frame.

WOW! Way better articulation than the beginning of the thread. When did you go with the different grill?

rebuilt my set of xj leaves with a military wrap. got another stock main xj and cut one eye off and wrapped the big eye on the small forward eye of my springs. Put new pads and redid the spring clamps, as well as sanded and painted em. Axle wrap is almost all the way gone, the horrendous swaying is almost all the way gone, and they look %300 more durable. Downside is my rear end is higher than i want. So i need to redo my front hangar up a touch to bring the height back down.

I cut 3.5in off my hood and moved my fenders up. I also dropped my grill down 3/4 of an inch.

Oh and here is a cute little thing I made to show difference between old and new. You can also tell in this pic that the grill was dropped down and slightly forward.

Man, that looks awesome. If I had the balls to cut up my jeep, I would definitely do that. Looks great.

You've created quite a capable and awesome looking rig! Quick question. I've got a 2.5L as well and was a bit afraid to put money into it adding lift, tires, etc. and then being really unhappy with power. Other than highway issues do you have any major issues with being underpowered while wheeling?

Thanks.. Never needed more power wheeling. I dont go in mud though. On some slippery stuff I have to hammer down, but if you make up for it with gears you will have the power you need.

Well. I was going to make the adapter plate, and buy the shaft from Duffy. Then i was going to have to find a 231 to hack up. I found this deal and for the price i couldnt pass it up!

Chris, I think I'm going to have to raise my fenders and cut my hood too. It looks good, and it does make A LOT of extra room in there.

So It is in. I had to lift it up, check clearance, drop it , lift check things, drop it, change clocking, lift, drop, change clocking about 5 or 6 times to get it were i want it. That was fun.

But using the come along made it worlds easier. I just need to drop it agian, pull it apart and get the metal shavings off of it. Seal and bolt up the adapter for the last time, block of a breather on the d300, fill them with fluid and put them back in. Then figure out what I am going to do about the giant hole in my floor with a transfer case poking through it. :haha:

Kept it flat !

I have a D300 twin stick in my YJ, but there is a massive hole cut in my floor that I am not too fond of. Not sure how much that doubler is going to stick up either. But I do know that I pretty much want to cut out my entire floor and build a custom one.

So... things arr changing..

Got the following sitting in the garage that I just picked up.

Chevy 10b front.
Spicer balljoints, timken bearings
Chromo shafts with spicer joints
Reid pass side knuckle
Wfo steering arm with 4th hole
Lockright
2in dom tierod with newish tierods
2in dom draglink with newish dl ends

14bolt rear
Ruffstuff pinion guard
Detroit
Disc brake conversion

4. 37in goodyear MTs on steel wagon wheels.

Both axles are 4.10 so im gonna end up gearing them to 5.13.

Picked up a set of stock yj springs.

Gonna run a main, cut main, 2 second leafs and then fan down from there. So basically a 7 leaf pack. gonna mix and match the best leaves and run em. Will be interesting to see what lift i get out of these. Already ready to cut the hangar down for less lift.

Spring packs are together. Cut one main leaf right at the eyes and put it under the main leaf, then followed the rest of the set down.

Also shaved the 14bolt. Forgot how much it sucked to do that.

Before:

Thats a quarter

After:
