For the latch issues that you were wondering about on the rear wheel wells. Check out McMaster-Carr. www.mcmaster.com. They have all kinds of industrial latches an bolts and everything else that you can think of. I personally use them for all of my "specialty" bolts. They even have military grade 9 available. I got the cantilever latch that I used on my spare tire carrier there as well.
'87 YJ, 4.2L built and bored, 8.5" of lift, 8.8 rear, AX15/NP 231, Tom Woods drive shafts, Flat fenders, 12,000LB winch, Custom bumpers, Rattle can paint job. Never completed...
Pics of my new shop. 40' x 80'. I have been building my Jeep for almost 3 years in 16' x 20' shed. It will be so nice to have room finally. Just wish I would have had this when I started my build. Oh...it comes with a house and another 2 car garage. It will be a couple months before we close because we don't want to move in crappy weather.
Also, I will be placing my final order from Ballistic Fabrication Monday or Tuesday. Finally getting my air shocks, some Ballistic Joints, and a couple other parts.
Ha haha. Lol. That's awesome. When I started reading your thread I was like "hey look at this poor guy crammed into that little garage, just like me"!
Good for you. Lol.
I've never missed it. My Jeep has missed a couple though. Unless something drastic happens the Jeep will be done. A couple more weeks we will be settled in the new house and I can get back to work on the Jeep.
Spent the evening in the shop...working on my son's suzaphone. He is marching in a parade in Disney next week and wanted his suzaphone redone. Pain in the ass. There were several layers of paint including one layer of latex house paint. Got it all down to the gel coat and spot puttied a few nicks and put a later of filler on the bell. Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow and maybe do some work on the Jeep.
Finally spent a couple hours in the shop. I even worked on the Jeep. I pulled the 9 in and cut off part of the truss and the old crappy upper link mounts. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the new Ballistic fab mounts burned in.
Spent saturday doing training and trail maintenance at the Bantam festival. Rode around in a crazy 2A on 42's. Didn't get too much done this weekend but at least got the 9 in finished up, painted, and back under the Jeep.
