Figured I'd make myself a better build thread, the 5.3 isn't happening till winter, but I'll post everything done so far
Bought my first Jeep sometime around February as a birth day present to myself
89 yj 4.2 I6 and ax15 5 speed
Previous owner knew absolutely nothing about the Jeep, so i was clueless what it had, but loved it
Measured to a stock yj
3" suspension lift
2"body lift
Sye unknown brand CV driveshafts unknown
33" bfg ats
been slacking on updates, dash will be dont soon, clutch parts i ordered are right, found out i have the early version nv4500 with the steeper 6.54(i think) first gear, motor and trans in, engine bay painted, headers on the way, still need a np241 and to send the wiring harness off. pictures up when photobucket decides to work :banghead:
Got my fresh made np241c with 32 spline input and jb conversions sye in. Kodiak Truck installed the sye for free when building it, just bought the sye n shipped it straight to them. Very satisfied fresh Tcase was $540 sye was $340ish. And I gained 6 inches of rear driveshaft with the nv4500/ np241c
Also got my speed hut custom guages in, and put two coats of rubberized bed liner on the dash
Thanks guys, I like the monster liner, not super hard, but it holds up to regular trail abuse real good, and I dunno what shocks the PO put on it, I reused them for now because I'm going to do springs longer shocks n taller mounts when I swap axles hopefully next winter
this build is extremely similar to the one im currently working one. Im about 95% sure Im going to monsterline it. I just cut off my motor mounts and Im picking up a 5.0 to put in her, and then throwing a junkyard 8.8 and plan on doing a soa with 4 inch leafs and losing my 3in body (going to a 1 for clearance reassurance on the tranny and transfercase) Ill deff keep posted on your build!
Well dash is almost done, sat inside wiring it up a couple times this weekend, tested the lights n gauge power and they all come on, got my aftermarket fuse block to wire it to, danhard heater is wired, all that's left is some switches to wire up and I'll throw it in and install it for good, here's a teaser pic

Its pretty sweet, worth the price, they are speedhut gauges, you can customize every last bit, they are all custom made, and really nice, they are all programmable so they'll work on multiple setups, different and ohm ranges on fuel senders ect.
Holds up pretty good, pushin thru small 4 wheeler trails no scratching or pealing of any sort, just where the top vibrates is wearing out, but overall very satisfied
Double D fab? Have not heard of them. I am replacing the tub and frame on my YJ and want yo do something different with the dash. I don't want to go CJ route due to heater/defroster mods, but from the pic of your dash I see that you maintai
Maintained the defroster ducts. I like it and am contemplating on a similar mod. If you have the time, could you please send info on Double D and detailed pics of your dash? Thank you! Ps- very nice jo
Thanks man, yeah the dash has 4 forward vents and full defrost, check out the website, everything u need to know is there, better empty your pockets for one of these bad boys $$$$$
Did the Dan Hard heater come with it? I looked on the Double D website and love the product. I also found the heater website but could not find pricing or the model displayed in Double D site
Dash and in, heater in and plumbed, fuel lines ran still gotta put a fender in and see where I'll have room for my fuse panel, wiring harness will be here Monday!
You can see the roommates 90 yj, slightly see his Cherokee, n my Tacoma, never mind my strange friends in the picture lol!
