My 95 YJ - still nameless.

The intro: Well I bought this YJ with 200k+ miles and the promise that it was pulled behind an RV. Its from the Gulf Coast so it has rust on the body in a few spots (only surface) but zero rusts on the frame or underneath (its got an undercoating). When I got it, it had a "loose clutch" according to the previous owner, new rotor cap, new sparkplugs and wires, new marine stereo, and two odd but nice bumpers. After a new master and slave setup for the clutch, she shifts like a dream. Then the starter failed. Found out it was the original starter and that the motor locked up (not the solenoid). Fixed that and then she was a dream.

The first upgrade: I noticed the battery was close to the end of warranty so I exchanged it. I decided to get a bigger one to support accessories all for $free.99.

What it looked like when I got it:

Its been a while but I lifted her. 4" rc lift and I picked up a set of 31" mud kings and American racing rims (the same that I already had 4 of so now I have 8) for about $100. I also got my CB installed and put a 4' fire stick antenna on.

Im going to close this thread even though theres not many posts.

So to close the story, I had her for about 8 months. I ended up getting rid of her because she needed work that was more than she was worth. Looking back I should have kept her because she was extremely dependable and like a first love, she was my first Jeep. Haha
Anyways, the tranny needed to be rebuilt (it grinded into every gear and wouldnt downshift to 2nd unless you were stopped), the top was so bad it rained through it, the was much much more rust discovered on the tub (it was completely rotted under the fenders, passenger floor, under the back seat), the inside fuse box melted, the steering box was shot, the header was cracked, and the tires were scalloped so bad you could see it from a good distance. I had to drive A LOT for my job and racked up quite a many miles but she never failed to get me out of anything.
The next owner put a new top, new headers, new tires, fixed the tranny, and pulled and sold the CB and antenna then traded it in on a mini cooper after going on and on to me about how Jeeps were worth their weight in gold (then he cheated me, good thing he's out of the Jeep community). What ever floats your boat.

10 months later I traded my 4runner for another 95 YJ...
