Winter does put a damper on working on stuff. My gaage is heated and I still get weather bummed.

Thanks man mine is always a work in progress.

Got some new projects coming up for the spring too. I should have the upgraded flipped steering done next week.

Well, the steering for sure, make the interior look a bit better which started with new/used cavalier seats, gonna get some neoprene covers for them. Found a used bestop center consol to replace my broken stock one. Rhino line it. Finally find an 8.8 to rebuild or drop in. Fix the bent rear tail gate and make it a drop gate with a used gate i picked up or a cj gate i want bad and along with that get a rear swingout/removable rear tire carrier made. Plus pick up a new bikini top that goes across the back bars to keep my son out of the sun so i don't have to run the full top in the summer.

Small stuff really. Also might look into the rugged ridge chromoly front axel kit to get rid of my cad.

Don't feel bad about the time and money thing. If i don't have time i have money and when i don't have money i have time. Especially with a 3 yr. old.

haha, good stuff man. sounds like u got ur hands full haha but i know.. im not too worried.. the only other "main" things i wanna get done that cost some money is the front bumper and some extra lights near the windshield.. everything else is like.. black paint for the axel and frame.. or stuff like that.. mine is alredy rhinolined and stuff..

Great Build So Far!

I to am looking to put a 4" RC kit on mine with my uncles help of course because I have no idea what I am doing (I sit behind a CPU all day!).

My question is... What extra mods do you have to do? Extended Brake Lines...Etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Haha, my uncle helped me a lot also uhm.. but as for extras for the 4in rc.. i didnt really do anything that didnt come with the kit.. when i got the jeep in stock form.. the guy had just put new brake lines on.. and they were long enough to where, as long as i didnt do max flexing and hittin jumps all day.. id be fine :P haha. but one thing i did notice was when i took it for a test drive.. it would pop out of gear a lot and feel like it had no power... so what i did was take the hard plastic plate under the shifting lever boots off. I just didnt have enough room to shift all the way into gear.. but after that ive never had a problem with anything lift-related..

Dude, super jealous of the YJ and that you have so much family involved. Nobody in my family understands... I love the sweet decals and esp. the one on the windshield! I also fit in the "poor college student" group, so I know how that is. I wish I could do a lot more but unfortunately Michigan eats Jeeps for breakfast... In the process of replacing floorboards and may eventually get a lift kit and bigger tires, def. keep your choice in mind. (How much was it btw?) Great thread, keep it up!!!

Yeah pretty much my whole family is into jeeps even my brother who cant drive yet is lookin forward to his first vehicle being a wrangler lol Thanks for the compliments on my YJ, and the decals are fairly recent and im from NY but the rust isnt too bad on this baby at all.. i fixed a few bigger rust places and actually had to weld a shock bracket back on the axle because it broke off haha But thanks and the price of the lift was about 520 after shipping and buying a few new bolts because of the last ones being seized up :x and the tires were about 1000 for 4, including mounting and balancing, and shipping. and everything.. hope this helps!

What do you mean by stinger-like bumper and what kind of fenders are you thinking? Maybe like the tube fenders? Also, I have heard about guys taking off the sway bar, but what is it and what does it do? Just curious...

By removing the sway bar you gain more flex. You just don't need it with leaf springs. You can pull the track bars too. I pulled all of that stuff and get more flex plus the ride is a bit smoother. Just remember you drive a Jeep and not a Corvette when taking turns haha

Haha, yeah wranglerdude got ya about the sway bar :P the stinger bumper is the triangle-shaped bumper that is curved instead of pointed at the end basically.. and yeah the tube fenders are one of the next things on my list.

Looking forward to the pics! I just put some square fog lights on and they look/work decent for only being some cheapo $15 from online.
Also working on fixing the right windshield wiper mount and arm, which was disconnected when I bought it... Had to fold the windshield down

Next step is new body mounts and lift kit, probably the RC 4", since I've heard such great things about it! Anybody have a lifted body mount kit? Or know how they hold up in comparison? Any info would be awesome!
