rear tire carrier vs. new hinges

so my current stock set-up I have, the rear tire (31/10.5/15) causes the rear gate to sag, then it hits the door frame as you try to shut

i thought i saw that you could remove the inside bracket, then use aftermarket brackets with no sag. but i have read about 100 different threads in 2 days so wasn't sure where i saw that

or do you simply need to upgrade to a tire carrier to avoid the sag.

i have a DD rig so don't need cans or anything - just to hold the tire

any thoughts.

I believe Gen-Right makes the tire carrier that bolts onto the body, similar to the old style bronco's had.

You take the tire carrier off the gate and use their product. But this puts stress on the body since there isn't any kind of reinforcement on the inside of the body panels to help suspend a tire.

The best bet is to get a good quality rear bumper and tire carrier combo, or if you are creative you can build your own. Just need some steel and a welder and a creative mind, anything is possible then.

what i thought i saw was using the same tire holder on the rear gate. you simply upgrade the hinges - at least that is what i THOUGHT i saw

if not that i will probably be buying a tire carrier
