I decided I wanna take off my lift and do SOA instead. Reason for this is better flex and better ride. If I go to stock springs over axel with the boomerang shackles will I be able to fit 35" tires and will I get the ride and flex I'm looking for? Input is welcome! Thanks

SOA with stock springs should easily fit 35" tires.

I cut the holes for my recessed tail lights ($7 bucks at Walmart) today. I used a jig saw with a metal blade. It worked like a knife on butter. I got a little 2.5 inch light for license plates but I haven't figured out where to put it. any thoughts? I was thinking to the right of the gas cap at the 45 degree angle slated toward the plate.

I filled the holes from the old tail gate hinges with bondo. I also rounded off the corner and filled in the holes where the tire stopper was. Sanded and premiered it. I can't wait to get some red paint on there and finish installing re lights! I think the back end is going to look so nice and clean when it's all done!

I picked up an ammo can to use as a center console for 15 bucks at the flee market. I installed it using four 3/4" bolts and a couple of nuts (about 10 bucks in hardware). Here's the end result.

Not bad for a 25 dollar water proof center console!

I finally got the time to install the tire carrier today! It looks awesome!

But I have two problems now.

First the license plate is blocked when I have the cans on the back.

Any Ideas on where to move it? keep in mind it needs to be lit up at night (nj law)

Second. I don't have reverse lights since removing the stock rear tail lights. I was initially going to put some small fog lights on the back but with this bumper I don't think it will work. Any Ideas? Thanks guys and gals

Try using these, thats what I was going to look at when I switch to LED tails.

The fog lights should work fine still, mount them under the bumper where they won't get ripped off off road!
Here is a guide to the wiring from my local shop!

Nice find on that bumper, I added that to my watch list, its about $300 cheaper then others I have seen!

It's built really well. Really heavy probably weighs over 150 lbs. All the welds look good and it's not flimsy when loaded down It's being held on with 8 grade 8 bolts. The company also suggested putting a few tac welds to hold it on to the frame if your going to run it loaded down with full cans and a big tire. I haven't done this yet but I plan on it.

Is the receiver on it tow rated or just for accessory mounting? Thats the one reason I haven't gotten rid of my bumper that I have now, it has class III towing!

No I think it's just for accessories. I'm sure I could tow a small trailer (canoes exc) if I needed to.

Hey guys sorry I haven't updated lately but I have been busy modding the jeep.

I got the license plate light and reverse light situation solved.

One thing I had to do was relocated the license plate to the spare tire
I used these LED bulbs to light up the license plate ( Custom Dynamics Black LED License Plate Bolts w/White/Amber LEDs )

I then found some nice small (4" diameter) LED "fog lights" at the parts store that mount good on the face of the rear bumper. They are wired to the reverse switch, I'm also going to by pass the switch so i can turn them on at anytime with another switch in the cab.

I don't have any pictures taken during the day of this work, but I do have one that was taken at night with the lights on.

I have also recently removed the vacuum 4x4 axle locking system and replaced it with the rugged ridge cable posi lock system. To be honest tho I'm not thrilled with the cable system. It isn't a very smooth pull and can something take more fiddling with it then id like to do.

I have also ordered a master rebuild kit for my 2.5L. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do and i decided to keep the 2.5. I'm going to rebuild it because it has been burning a lot of oil and has a loud valve tap. Does anyone know where to find some good information that would help me out with this rebuild? I should be starting this rebuild in the next couple of days. I'll keep everyone updated. Thanks for reading
