round corner soft uppers wtf? wont fit

i bought a set of round corner uppers to fit my brothers 90 with a hard top. for some reason they dont fit whatsoever. it doesnt make any sense, the frames slide into the doors fine, but they dont fit the top to close. they came from a 89 or something when i bought them off ebay. they dont fit my TJ so i ruled that out and i cant figure why they dont fit. i bought them purposely so he could use them with the half doors and hard top rather than the full doors only. is it possible they are from something older than cj7 and thats why they dont fit?

Did the same thing with my first yj from what I have found you will need tj uppers and have to cut and weld to the metal frame to make work or but slider windows I think they will work not 100% sure

What do you mean they don't fit? Can you snap a pic? If the frame slides in the 88-85 half door, it is right. The TJ frames won't fit without a cut and weld. The CJ frames should fit just fine.

You may need to adjust the door. My hard full doors fit one way and when I put my half hard doors on I have to adjust the hinges and striker pin. It will get somewhat close without the adjustment but not very tight.

Maybe post up a picture?

no YJ or CJ soft uppers will work with a hardtop...only option is modified tj soft uppers, full doors, or those crazy expensive hard upper slider windows

No soft uppers were ever designed to fit a hard top...at all. People just modify them to make due. You either use full doors or, as tigerblood said, spend alot of coin on the hardtop designed fiberglass hard upper windows.
