I had to do some cutting, grinding, and welding to make my seats go onto the OEM bases. And it was a total PITA, but it was also totally worth it. I installed a couple of seats out of a wrecked Volvo and after installing the seats I wired up the seat heaters, awesome! So I would suggest you contact the seat maker and see if they make a base that adapts the seats to your Jeep. If not you may have to get creative.

That's what I was afraid of I think I can use the same brackets but bolt or weld some plain sheet metal to them and drill use holes for the seats

I would like to add, I have made a lot of mods to my Jeep YJ, the new engine is my favorite mod and the most expensive, but for the money and effort I had to put out the seats are with out question my second favorite mod on my Jeep. Replacing the Jeep factory seats with the Volvo Leather seats is by far my best "on the cheap" mod I have done. Go for it, you will be glad you did.
