Talking Start to finish.

Ok, this is the start anyway. Figured I would start documenting the progress on my unit. So bear with me. I didn't take pics of some stages, but I think it will be ok.

Here is my Jeepster the day I bought her.

Here she is with the new wheels. and after I painted the fender flares.

A little patch work on the frame.

And now with the 3" body lift removed and replaced with a 1.25, and the new Tag 6" Flares.

In the morning, I get the new 35" wild country's bolted on. The tail gate is in the shop getting body work and rust repair, new windshield frame just came in also and will be painted, then body work and paint...Whoo Hoo.

As for color, I could use an opinion or two. I am going with flat OD Green. Kind of a medium shade. Going to gloss black my hardware (Hinges, door handles, windshield tie downs, hood pins etc). Pretty set on this, but not sure if I want to black out my hard top, or leave it the desert tan that it is... Struggling with that decision. If I paint it, will take it gloss black to match the other stuff, just can't decide. Any thoughts on the idea?

Looks awesome! If you black out the top, gloss black lettering would look mean on the flat green.

@ Troy, that is kind of funny. Mine originally came from up north... How ironic. A bit farther than PA though, mine was built in Canada. Everything is in French and Kph. Makes it a bit different.

On a side note, looking at the SYE kits at this point. Have some drivetrain vibration, have changed the u joints just to make sure, and it's still there. Not bad but there none the less. so Stand By Adams 4x4, you will be hearing from me soon.

Love the jeep. Mine was the identical color. Till I painted it flat black. I left the top tan for now. Looks ok. But have been thinking black also. Not sure if it would be too much black. The tires and wheels look awesome.

Well after much debate, I have decided to turn the tan top black. Now just got to go to work. By the way, I painted my stock bumpers today. Will be building custom ones at some point, but in the mean time, the ones that I have were very beat up. Used that hammer finished raddle can paint from Wal Mart. Worked like a champ and actually sort of matches my Tag flares. I ordered the textured ones rather than smooth. WIll post pics in a few days, didn't have time to take them, put them on photobucket, bla bla bla.

Me neither. Should have her ready to paint this weekend. Hopefully done by tuesday.

I wasn't going to strip it to metal, but after I got started, I found some concerning spots of rust under the paint, nothing major, but would grow into a major problem in the years to come, so buzzed her on down to bare metal, just in case. Makes for a bit more work, but then again, who cares, it's only time and varaprime!

Decided to go with the Flat O.D. Green, satin black accents, my hardware is going to be painted with that hammered paint in gloss black. Started painting my hardware and it is turning out pretty cool. That stuff has a neat look. If I only didn't have to go to my job, I could be working on it all day everyday..... Uggggg!

Getting there. Got a bunch done today. Block primed last thing yesterday, buzed it down a bit with the D/A with 220, then a little guide coat, and wet sand with 400gr. Un-bagged, washed and now re-bagged for am painting. Did get my paint today, this took a bit of a turn, like usual, mid paint job the design changed. Well not so much the design as the color..........Muhaaaaaaaa Muhaaaaaaaaaaa MUHAAAAAAAAA!

Here it is in block prime...

And the other side.

Our mad scientist at paint supply mixing up my Atomic Green concoction.

A bit of a teaser..

And at least the windshield frame is done!

Tomorrow will get the party really started. Installing the glass into the frame, painting the tub and body, doors, hood. Still have some body work to do on the tail gate and hinge hardware, but not to worry, moving on up! Whoop WHoop!

Hoping when I get the black flares, hinges, and hardware on it will tone down the green a little bit. Still liking it a lot better than the flat O.D. I originally picked out. When we laid out a panel it just looked a bit plain. I can't help myself, I like an over the top paint. So now while driving down the road, I can just randomly yell out "Hulk Smash!" Almost went with a crazy purple, but I like my green and tan seats too much to change them. I guess the atomic green kind of matches the "Zombie Wrangler" theme I was aiming for. lol.
