Hello, Just picked up this 93 and getting ready to start the build, car originated from Hawaii, going to take the hardtop and full doors off and replace with bikini top and half doors to start, then strip down for paint then up in air about 12-14" and 38/15.5/20 Mud grappler. then who knows from there...

Nice jeep to start with

Thank you, It is very clean for 93, only has 120k miles and all original paint and interior, had a 2" stack of records from maintenance work and owners manual. LOL! Im a sucker for that kind of stuff when buying anything.

Wow, that's in good shape. How's the frame ?
Frame and everything else is impeccable! not a spec of rust anywhere, not even a ding.. Clean car fax with no accidents and 1 owner. one of the cleanest Yj's stock I've seen in a while. And best part, I work for dealer and someone traded in and i got it for $1900.00!!!! LOL!!

great idea. then your 93 will sit like mine. same tires and all.
That looks badass! I'm going with the MetalCloak fenders and rock rails, what do you have for lift? I was toying around with using the 40/15.5/20 but I want to make sure I have enough clearance.

Ok, one more day to finish up, pretty much taking down to bare bones to paint' by far biggest pain was removing windshield brackets' definitely easier to pull the dash, glad I did, Friday going to prep and paint this weekend, got all new hardware and start reassemble everything, I threw out a lot. Starting with everything new from hardware nuts and bolts to hinges and brackets. Going a little jeep crazy!! Lol.

All set for tomorrow, remove hood and ready to prep and paint. After removing everything still amazed at the condition, no rust at all except small piece behind the seal of the rear door. Going to remove all heater components and start from square one after paint.

keep it coming brother, can't wait to see the progress. I'm getting ready to dig into my 93 once i return from deployment so this gives me something to look forward to! how hard was it to take the dash and door panels off? was it pretty self explanatory or did you run into a few "scratch your head moments"? please share any issues you had to spare me from the same... thanks!

I've done a couple of these before, there really is not much to it as far as stripping everything, I do recommend using some PB Blaster on as many nuts and bolts as you can and let sit for day or so before removing, the one issue I had and I think pretty much anyone with a YJ can relate is removing the windshield brackets, the nuts behind the dash turn and its tricky to get to them without pulling the dash, I also bought a new stainless bolt kit from front to back so I don't have to reuse most of the old ones, it was a $170.00 well spent. The full doors also were not that bad to disassemble, I am going to put back as many new items as I can get my hands on to make reassembly go smooth. I'll keep on posting as I go, thanks for the interest.

Hello fellow jeepsters!! Well after 15 hours MYTWYT IS painted!! I'll post pics of paint later today after I go to the booth to get it, my phone died last night around midnight. Lol. Came out fantastic with no issues, two coats of sealer,4 coats paint and two coats of clear. I used straight white with no color to tint and I love it. The bottom pic is the sealer/primer. More pics to follow.
