Smile Consolidating to Wrangler Forum

I have a '55 CJ5 build in progress, and mainly stuck with, however with recent modifications to my '01 TJ Sahara, I'd like to stick to one forum.

Posting my CJ5 build here and moving to wranglerforum permanently.

Very very cool !!!! Keep the pics coming, I can't wait to see the CJ-5 progress, a lot of detail and beautiful work, please keep the pics coming.

There are a million ways to build a Jeep, pick one and do it - you bought a canvas, not a painting!

Looks like your last post in the thread over there was from 2011. Any updates since then?

Unfortunately there have been very few updates from the last posts. I have the engine back into the chasis, and have started body work. The body work is.. a process.

Latest Update

Getting the body prepped for some metal work.

I got the toolbox taken out, which wasn't bad.. just a few spot welds.

I also just picked up a tank of shielding gas, and have been practicing my beads for when the time comes to weld in the new channel that has arrived. Hopefully getting that in within the next few weeks.

Began some work on the body, and the progress is rolling along quickly.
First time ever trying body work or welding for that matter, but I think I'm quickly getting the hang of it. Each panel comes out better than the last.

What was nice is that the panels all straightened out with the patch panels.

I had to replace the rusted out side panels before I could weld in the new crossbeam.

The entire outside of the body is now almost bare.

I have mostly everything patched grinded, and epoxied. I'll get a pic up of the epoxy once I make some more progress. But good to be back at it. It's been a while, but haven't given up.
