Engine swap

Has anyone tried installing a 4.2l straight six out of a 1987 Wrangler into a 1984 Cj7, if so do you have any pointers in the process now of the change over?

That's the same motor that CJ's used for years. The biggest issue of the changeover is that you will have to figure out what to do with the mess of computer controls and emissions that came out on the YJ. Personally, I avoid YJ's as real Jeeps have round headlights, and the performance was dismal to say the least. Jerk all the crap off of it, put in an HEI replacement distributor, find a good carb that matches your intake and you should be off and running.
