Thanks!

You have a 76, right? Shouldn't the YJ half doors fit yours also? I thought the 76 to 86 CJ7's had the same tub? I guess I will learn something new if I am wrong.

Yep, mine is a 76. Geometry wise cj7 and yj door openings are basically the same but the early '76 - '79? dont have strikers so my doors wont fit on yours without removing the strikers and yours will not fit on mine without adding them. I have a set of strikers if I ever thought about doing that but it aint simply just screwing them in. lol

It's easy to tell the difference. Doors with paddle style handles will fit your jeep. My doors have turn handles kinda like the old cars did in the 50's.

Glad you picked up the doors. What top you gonna run?

Oh ok, that makes sense! I knew the tubs from 76 to 86 were the same but didn't think about the door hardware differences. Thanks for the info. I always like learning new things about Jeeps.

No progress reports at this time... hopefully will have some updates after Christmas.

Thanks Don! Well, the majority of my mod money is currently tied up in this project. But I have managed to get some ace sliders and a Bestop HighRock front bumper for the rubicon. Hoping to get the lift and 37's for the rubicon this spring or summer.

Such an awesome build you got going. I hadn't looked through your build until today. Looks like a lot of fun! Reading through it I realized we both have 84 CJs, we both have Rubi Unlimiteds, and we both have a dog named Bella. I can't wait to instal my lift. It's sitting on the garage floor waiting on me. Good luck. Can't wait to see your future progress.

Thanks. You must have really good taste to own a 84 CJ, JK Unlimited Rubi, and a dog named Bella! What are you lifting? CJ or Rubicon? What size lift and brand? Tire upgrade?

Looking forward to getting mine back on the road. The toughest decision will be whether I am going to keep the CJ or sell it... I'm leaning toward keeping it, but...
we will see.

Thanks, Jeepers!

Here are some more pics he sent me with the doors on and out in the light. This is the first time I have seen the CJ with the full doors mounted on the Jeep in about 5 years (when I first took them off and started this project)

I am getting brake fluid, radiator fluid, battery, front seats, and other small stuff ready for my CJ7. Hoping to have it back in the next couple weeks! It has been a long journey. This guy has had my CJ7 for 2 1/2 years and it is almost ready to come home. Just ordered my Corbeau Baja RS Reclining Suspension Seats. Hopefully the suspension seats will increase the comfort level driving an old CJ

Well... It took 2.5 years, but I finally have my CJ7 back. It's "DONE" - put back together and running

Not sure what I am going to do with it. Poured a lot of $$$ into it. May drive it a little and sell it. Not sure what I could sell it for. May throw it up for sale this Spring when the weather warms up. I would love to keep it, but I honestly don't know when I will have time to drive it. Here are a few pics of it from today.

Thanks man! It really turned out nice. The pictures don't do the paint color justice.

Very nice looking ride. Would be a shame to get rid of her. Even if you only get to drive around now and then, now that its done (if a Jeep is ever done) its not costing anything more than insurance to keep it. Take the family out and enjoy the outdoors with it when you have the time.

Thanks everyone! Need to do some tuning on the engine. It was running... But not quite as smooth as I would like.

Thanks NorCal! When I said "done" I was referring to the guy I was bartering with to get the jeep put back together and painted. The paint turned out amazing. It truly is jaw dropping. I love my granite crystal JKU but this color is awesome. The pictures do not do it justice.

I got the jeep back 2 days before I left for vacation. My first time to Mexico in the playa del Carmen area. Pretty amazing place and won't be the last time I visit this area in January. 80 + degrees everyday = heaven.

Not sure if this picture will work but thought I would try.

I still consider the jeep in project zone. It sat for 6 years without running. The carb was rebuilt, new fuel lines, new gas tank, but it is going to need to be tuned in to get it running really smooth. Once I get it running consistent I will consider the project stage over.

The jeep sits a little higher than i anticipated. It actually sits higher than my JKU that has a 4.5" lift and 37's. I am 6'1 and it is difficult to get in and out. I'm going to look for some good side steps and may see about lowering the lift height by an inch or so.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Hasta luego
