H2 Diesel Conversion

Ok so I'm new to the 4x4 world but I have an 88 YJ with a Chevy 383 that I recently acquired. I initially wanted a daily driver but I'm realizing that's not going to work because everything is stripped and it's not economical by any means. I'm realizing that I will need to tow it out to play with it.

I've been going back and forth on getting a new/used diesel truck for a daily driver. I now realize that I want the Hummer H2 but I am certain that I want it as a diesel as it will remind me of my active duty days. I came across a company here in Orlando that can do it but the price tag is $25k for a Duramax drive train. I would like any input as to whether that is a good price or should I keep looking for other options? Any thoughts?

Sounds like you would have the price of the H2 and then add 25k to that for a nostalgia ride. I would think that you could do some Military wheels and tires along with big bumpers and a winch to get the tough feeling of the H2. For a lot less. It's hard to have 2 projects going. 1 always wins out. I would say pick one and geter done then start the other. For 25k you could put a real straight front axle under the H2 and have something special to tow your jeep with then.

Is the company duraburb? If so, that is the only shop that I would have do a conversion to a duramax engine. Can check out alot of their builds on various duramax forums and see the attention to detail they put into these builds.
