I'm with you there.

Not to take anything away from our Wrangler Forum, but have you checked out the G503 forum? Nothing but restored military vehicles there.

Thanks,

Oh, I've been meaning to post my latest restoration project. I have an old wheel barrow that's over a dozen years old. I was trying to decide if I wanted to scrap it and buy a new one or try to fix it up. Well, with some left over paint from my Willys' restoration, a can of spray on bed liner and a new tire, I don't think it came out half bad.

Well, I don't know if I'm up to any more full restorations. I still have things I'll be buying for the Willys (rifle mount, 2-way radio, etc.) over the next few years. Next year I plan on tearing my trailer down and fixing it up.

Them picts are so cool. Outstanding JOB. My first jeep was a Korean War era jeep. Many a time over the years I have wished that I had done what you have. I can't even imagine the research you've had to do to get it right.
The only thing I had done to mine was light cosmetic work and just enough mechanical work to get it to run good. (Plus I had to get rid of all the "ARMY" stuff and convert it over to "Marine" Stuff. LOL). I later donated it to the local VFW where I lived then.
Thanks again for the picts.

Ive seen certain parts of this video in an anniversary video that was on JP magazine's site. And the guy driving shirtless was in that one too. I cant prove it, but I think that guy may be my dad. Same curly hair with the big pompadore. Here's a screenshot at 2:00 in, and the best pic I have of my dad from WWII...making some time with a couple Philipino girls.

Took my Willys to a fund raising event the other day they called the "GI Jubilee".
It was for an organization called Honor Flight. They raise money to send WWII vets to Washington DC to visit the WWII memorial as well as other sites.

Folks dressed up in 1940s attire (especially the vets) and they had a whole show with big band music, singers, etc..

Here are some pics taken by a photographer for the event.

The first is on of our group, the second is one of the "Cigarette Girls" that were at the event. And the rest are some artistic shots of my Jeep.

It was pretty cool, the cigarette girls were walking around with trays of candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars and selling them for donations.
