So, this is my first post ever, so hopefully I'm doing this correctly!

I signed up for this forum when I saw how much knowledge is on here, especially the 2013 Info thread. I was really bummed at the dealer thinking I would have to wait another year to get a color I liked when I saw that Commando Green was going to be ready ~ September.

I knew immediately that was going to be my first Jeep! After searching for pics of this color and not finding any, I stumbled across Jakob101st's mock up in the 2013 Info thread. TOTALLY SOLD ME. After staring at my screen with bloodshot eyes from reading and looking at everything I could find on the 2013 JKU's, I PM'd him and asked if he could do another mock up of a Commando Green for my toolbox to help me count down the days,

and......

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO Jakob101st! You rock! :punk:

Billet looked good in person but in the end, it's still just another shade of gray/silver. They are too common where I am.

Granted, I have already seen 2 other CG Jeeps in my immediate area. Oh well... more motivation to make mine unique sooner.

How did it do other than getting stuck there? Did you get to use the lockers anywhere?
I have used the lockers a couple times when I start to slip ill engage both front and rear... After doing that it just walks up anything ... I used a bottle jack on the driver side on the rock rail to lift it up high enough to put rocks underneath both front and rear driver side tires .... My passenger side was still sunk in ... Turned my lockers on and it pulled right out ... If I didn't have the lockers I would have had to do the same to the other side

I for one, don't want everyone to love this color. I wouldn't want it to be as popular as red or silver. I've only seen one other on the road and the dealers around here have very, very few in stock.

This is not a "safe" color choice and I like it that way. This isn't a color someone just settles on when they're browsing the lot. Someone isn't going to buy this color because it's "cute".

When you see CG, you know there's a better chance that a Jeep person is driving and not someone who just traded a Camry or a Buick or a mini van.

When I was contemplating a new Jeep I scanned the color options first and nothing stood out. I was ready to pull the plug on the whole idea until I saw CG. At that point I knew I had to have it. Being a military guy it just felt right. I can see where it wouldn't be for everyone but I for one wouldn't own any other color. Jeeps are unique and this color is unique as well.

HERE HERE!!

I chisel my CG because I wanted an upgrade from my midsized pu. I had a 2000 Tundra 4x4 trd with factory lockers. She weighed 200 lbs more and only 12" longer in the wheel base. I got the JKUR for the kids and dogs to fit. I wanted lockers and more HP. I loved my old truck but not like my new girl. CG to me said jeep. I got a few fanys but was happy with the deal. Thrown my back out a few so heated seats I won't argue. Fold down the rear seats and Homedepot is a go. She's everything I wanted and need. I love that when driving she just feels 4x4 and not some fu fu that's afraid of getting dirty. I know she will get dents and scratches but that's what a jeep does. I will just call them scars and have a story for each. Stickers I think not she gets tattoos.
