That's some serious tint there. NC is pretty strict on it for inspections. I'm in the process of getting rid of my Wrangler decals and replacing my Rubicons with black ones. Never could figure out why they do the silver on green just doesn't go well.

I think the semi cloudy day is making it darker than it seems. I just got 20% to match the back. I hear ya though... strict regulations on tiny things like this are annoying.

I too am thinking about replacing the various stickers with black, but I'm going to try and push them further down the to-do list if possible. I sort of want the AEV hood at some point so I'm not sure if I should replace the stickers twice. Also, anyone know if AEV will update their hood to have two window washer sprayers instead of keeping it at one? I know it's something we can mod ourselves but it'd be nice to not have to drill holes.

The drivers side jeep is clockwise a hair too much but nothing a little mud can't fix.

Nice! I'm getting mine tinted tomorrow. Any suggestions on how dark to go? Lighter for the front windows maybe ?
Looks great!

If you want to do legal and lighter in the front, it's probably going to be around 35%. I got 20% on the front cause I wanted it to match.

The closest match is 28. It's as close as you can get to the rear, and you won't get pulled over... I've had it over 3 months--no issues or hassles.

Cool. I had a bud with dark dark tint and it was such a pain at night. You had to put the windows down to make a turn. I want to leave the state and not get a ticket. They are usually pretty relaxed in NM.

Also, 28 will look light on the wall at whatever shop you go to, but tint always looks lighter on the display wall. Don't be deterred.. Installed on the vehicle, it looks darker, but right.

I've had tinted vehicles most of my driving life so I'm used to the darkness. Would you actually get a ticket if you leave the state, or do you mean when you move out of the state? I live in GA but I don't imagine I'd get a ticket from MD while visiting since I'm not registered there.

If it's an issue, tint shops can remove and re-do a different tint (at a later time) with no issues.

Dark tint here is illegal but cops leave you alone. We have family in Fl and Ca for such we live to drive to. I know if I were driving in Ca I'd get a ticket or at least hassled.
Other factor is I don't want to pay the $ to darken the rear. Easy money I say.

I don't think you'd get hassled for it. A ticket/work order to get the tint removed is money going towards the state. They don't make money nor do they have a say regarding laws in other states. If your vehicle is registered in another state, you are your state's problem, not theirs.

But its a safety thing and up to the cop that sees you. If you are in another state then you still have to follow thier laws.

I must be the oddball. Mine came with factory tint but wish it hadn't. I like all the visibility I can get.

I'm with ya. I specifically ordered this jeep without it, though I think they look better tinted. My 12 was tinted & I felt like I could never see.

My 2000 Sahara had a clear glass hardtop. In heavy bumper to bumper traffic I felt like I was in a fishbowl with everyone looking at me.

Here's another one of mine. If you can see it, notice the front grab handle. IMHO they are the best on the market. Just thought I'd pass it on to anyone looking for something super solid.

Welcome Distributing Grab handles

Do you use them to get in or for crawling?

Nope! Just following this thread to see good looking CG jeep's, don't care who has 28, 20, 30, or even 50 percent tint.
