Pardon the noob question but on these mountain trails, what do you do about passing other vehicles? Are these one way only trails? Backing up on one of these could be a bummer.

I got bit by the 14er bug last summer, and hope to make another trip in 2014 in the Leadville/Twin Lakes/Buena Vista area.

I would love to see some trials in "das Kommando". It was a trip last year that put a Wrangler on my wish list.

as for passing on these mtn trails, I'll speak for myself, I have learned to spot areas either in front or remembering where areas are behind me. I would always suggest if you have an area you can pull to the side take it and wave the other guy through.. most the trails have a good range of visual distance so each can think about where to let the other pass.
I believe most people do this but I also know that some don't and they also either don't know the rules or think they are always in the right away... It's amazing at what locations you do run into traffic and it seems like it's always works.. also don't pass if your not totally comfortable with the area... look, think, then decide. and if the trail is so narrow for a long area use a spotter to hold back traffic or send it, although this does mean someone has to do some walking..... give them the camera to take pictures....

Black Bear from just above the steps is the only one way trail there is in Colorado... although a lot of trails are ran more in one direction then the other they aren't on way...

I also caught the 14er bug a few years back, but having camped in Colorado since I was little it was always something I wanted to do...
4 14ers to date... maybe another this year.... ?? TBD

Anyone having a rough idle with their pentastar? I have 9,700 on my CG and it just started a random rough idle. There's no codes and my rpm's are stable. In New Mexico we have 1 octane less then average. Ie. National regular @ 88 we are something like 87. I'm assuming its due to me putting in regular vs mid grade. I just switched today. My toyotas would all require mid and would rough idle on reg. Maybe some bad gas at a station.
Anyways just curious if anyone has noticed any troubles yet? No other issues yet. Knock on wood.

87 octane, 15,000 miles on my 2013 jku cg- smooth as can be. Maybe you got a bad tankful or a dirty filter? Hope it passes and is nothing serious.

I hope so. I think I've gotten some bad gas from that station before but my truck needed some butterfly intake valve cleaning and a new fuel filter anyways. I'm picky how she runs and feels.

I had a P0300 code with rough idle after less than 300 miles. You could feel the car shudder at idle when the cylinder misfired. It would come on, go off every couple of days. Last week I took it in, and the dealer put in a new plug. (gee, thanks!)

This week it came on again, this time with a P0305 code. I took it to another dealer, and they're replacing the head. They said it's come up on the 2013s, which is why they had 4 in stock.

I have around 5,000 miles.

In colorado regular gas is 85 octane, and 87 is midgrade. My 2013 runs better and gets better gas mileage on 87.

Sounds more like here. Prob 85 w/ average manufacture recommended 86 oct. I hope I stays away. It's smooth at the moment.

I have to run midgrade when I'm in Colorado... Jeep hates the lower stuff... so far the NM 86 low grade seems to be doing fine.

I run 87 octane on my 2013 JKUS, 13000+ miles/9+ months, runs smooth as silk. I'm thinking bad gas.

I had an 1/8 left when I filled up with some Chevron mid grade. I'm getting an occasional rough idle but it seems to be smoothing out. Fingers crossed.

Hey guys I just went through most of the thread....your CG's look great!

I just sold my '97 sahara today and put a deposit down on a CGSS(Sport S)

I'm really excited-I went into the dealership last week planning on getting a hardtop SS in rugged brown......
But I've had 2 wranglers so far and both were black hardtops....so upon seeing the rugged brown-I realized it was too similar to black and I also wanted to change the top.

So I ended up seeing the CG and WOW.....then the only 6 spd manual they had in CG was a soft top so I kinda had to settle. But now I'm kind of glad, and excited about having a soft top. It was never a big deal having a hardtop because I have a system in my garage (2x4's and ratchet straps) to lift the hardtop off.

So thats that and I'm settled on this. I'm also having the dealer install a 2" lift, and a Fox racing suspension. And also I think I decided today on ION matte black wheels and Goodyear Wrangler M/T 35's with kevlar.

Hopefully by the end of next week I'll have it in my driveway

Then I'll be looking into bumpers and flat fender flares.

I'll be glad to be contributing to this thread soon! All of your rides look great too!

Hi all, first post to this forum. I've been on here for awhile and have learned so much from you all I figured it was finally time to post something! This color is awesome! grows on me more and more every day.

Just had the AEV 2.5 with geo correction brackets installed on my JKU this week. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. It rides much better than stock in corners as well as during hard braking. Rolling with the rubi take offs for now- looking to go to a 34 inch tire soon - 285/75/17.

Here are some pics right after it was finished. You can see the before and after in the second attachment. Looking forward to taking this thing on the trails and dumping more money into it!

I don't consider that good news. Should be one of jeeps standard colors, it started in olive drab after all!

Where do you get that this color is all done anyway?

It's finally arrived

Having ordered in march I collected the Jeep from the dealer 48 hrs ago! The soft top is on and the miles racking up with any excuse to drive it being taken.

2.8 CRD
Full Overland spec (highest european/ UK spec available)

Initial thoughts......goes well but loooooonnng travel on the throttle, terrific brakes, High 20's mpg (should see low 30's when run in). THE BEST COLOUR and can't stop smiling!

I only know of 1 other CG JKU in the UK, rare doesn't even start to describe it!

Nice and congrats on taking delivery.

Interesting differences in your model versus what we get in the States.
