Plastidip the wheels for winter protection and added clear marker lights. Also added a Smithy Bilt hitch and wiring harness. I have to say that hitch and wiring harness were really nice. Wiring harness has plastic nibs to pop in all the factory holes to keep it in place plus a weather proof plug and leads to wire An auxiliary backup light.

Sold my stock wheels and tires for $550, any ideas on my next mod? Im kinda leaning towards the JW headlights... this is what I already have: new wheels, tires, a 2.5 inch lift... and thats about it.

Well, won't get to see pics from my end. Guy never came around to selling his Pintlers and I found a deal not to be passed up. Found a set of four Pro Comp 7069's for 300 bucks so I snatched em up. They're sitting in my garage waiting on their Duratrac blankets to be ordered. I will be buying a fifth wheel so I will have a matching spare.

Just got my GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition from brown santa today!

I couldn't wait to get it on the Jeep so I took a short lunch break today. I am gonna love this thing! I bought the suction cup mount for mounting on the Jeep. This isn't some amazing offroad video so don't give me any grief. Just took it thru some puddles on a dirt/mud/gravel road near my office.
Here is the video I took today if you want to check it out.

So I'm having a little buyer's remorse. Been thinking I shoulda passed on the painted fenders, because now I want to go with a set of narrow tube fenders and paint them instead. Is there a demand out there for painted granite fenders? Not trying to make this a for sale post but I'm on the fence about selling them. I think the painted top and fender option was around $3k if I'm not mistaken. What would one pay for something like this? Should I just stop browsing the internet (all day everyday) for jeep parts for a while?

If you are planning on doing a ton of serious offroading and you need added clearance then I would say go with the flat fenders. I personally love the look and stance of your Jeep the way it is and would leave the fenders alone.

Looking at your Jeep makes me jealous! Can't freaking wait to get my lift and tires

Edit: If you put flat fenders on it you are going to wish you bought 40's

Nice setup. What lift and wheel/tire combo is that? I'm patiently waiting for mine to arrive.

Well I will be in this thread in a few weeks (7?)

I was originally in the Billet thread, because I didn't have the patience to wait and order a Granite like Sucker Punch did. I took delivery of my '14 Billet JKU October 5th. January 2nd someone pulled in front of me and insurance deemed my Jeep a total loss. (because the lower passenger control arm mount weld had a small crack in it)

I was able to order a Granite on 1/31. And just got my vin in an email today. I already ordered a new hitch, wheel spacers and need to order my budget boost shortly so it is all here ready and waiting.

BLACK or ARGENT PIntlers???

Patiently waiting for my Granite JKURX to arrive. Getting wheels and tires purchased while I wait. I have decided on AEV Pintlers.
Although I have never seen a Granite Jeep in person around my area, I like the color in pictures and on some of the other Chrysler vehicles at my dealership. Any opinions... Black or Argent???

I am also torn between Duratracs and BFG All Terrains. 285/70/17

Based on reading several threads... This wheel size and tire setup... should NOT require any lift or suspension modification...right?

Any info and Pictures would be appreciated.

Nice work Harley... How difficult were the clear side markers to install? I have a set of them but no instructions, doesn't look straight forward to me...

Nice looking new Jeeps guys!

Ckeller61 -

I wasn't a huge fan of the black with red outline Rubicon stickers at first, but I have to admit... they are growing on me. Not sure if I am serious enough to replace my Rubi stickers, but who knows...

Love seeing new pics and new members joining in.

Can't wait for topless weather!

Clear marker lights were a bit of a pain. You have to take the front push pin out. I used like a T13 craftsman socket as a poker and placed it in the middle of the plastic push pin. Then I used one of those blue plastic Irwin wood clamps (has yellow rubber pads on clamp) you get at lowes to squeeze the socket into the middle of the push pin and pop the little plastic needle out of it. Tried using the T13 and a nail punch by hand first and it just wasn't happening...was afraid it would slip and scratch something. Wood clamp popped the needle right out.

Take the light bulb out of the stock marker light. Then you have to pull the outer fender out real far, press on the marker light clip (you can see this clip on the clear one that you haven't installed yet) and then slide the marker light down between the inner and outer fender pieces. It's really tight. It's rough on the fingers and you have to pull the outer fender out and inner fender in. Then with your extra fingers work the lens down.

I also put blue painters tape on the lenses before pulling the old out and pushing the new in because it slides up tight against the outer fender and I didn't want to scratch the lenses. Then take the bulb out of the clear lens and install in reverse. Pop the rivet back in the outer fender and put the little plastic needle back. I used the wood clamp WITHOUT the T13 socket to pop the needle back in flush. The second side only takes about 5 minutes after you figure out the first one.

Glad to hear it "worked out" for you. Hopefully you weren't injured, but glad you got the better color!!

Hey BCT, I had a similar issue. My Granite JKUR is actually being shipped right now from AEV (that's right, folks, it shipped yesterday!! Should arrive in CA Fri-Mon!!) and I originally ordered Argent pintlers, but then thought the color might be close to Granite, but not enough to match and more likely clash. I spoke to the guys at AEV and they overwhelmingly voted for black pintlers, so I changed my order. I haven't received my Jeep yet (ordered 11/1/2013, long story), but the pics of it look awesome with the black wheels! Hope this helps. Let us know which way you go and if you go Argent, I'd love to see pics!!

You are correct. You DO NOT need to lift your Jeep if going with 285/70/17 tires. Regarding the black vs argent pintlers, I am partial to the black.

Just to clarify my pics, they are 315/70/17's with a 2.5" AEV Dualsport lift
