I'm gonna go with the 3.5" AEV SC lift with 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers with the level 8 zx wheels. I've been over on the AEV forum and got a lot of great info from some of the guys running different set ups. I feel like the 3.5 and 35's is a good middle ground between the 2.5 and 35's and the 4.5 and 37's. The 3.5" lift will also be a better platform to modify if I ever decide that I want the 37's. Hopefully I can return everything and then reorder everything in time to get it installed 2 weeks from today.
Hey man, dont have a granite but have been following this thread as i love the color. I think you should stay with the 37's and 4.5" aev lift. I belong to a large group in ny and have to tell you 35's get lost in a 4 door way to easily in my opinion. My friend has a jku with 37" coopers and rancho 4" and it looks perfect, and his wife drives it everywhere. It really isnt that high. If all else fails you can get one of those M.O.R.E steps in black and you wont even notice it. Your rig will look so bad ass with the 37's and 4.5" lift. I have 35's on a 2 door with 2" of lift and am wishing i had went 37"

Haha, only kidding! Thanks man. When UPS shows up tomorrow with the tires I may be tempted to unload one to set it up next to the Jeep.

What kind of set up does your buddy run with the 4" lift and 37's?

Well from memory, its a rancho 4" lift (think its the trail system) rancho 9000's. 37x12.50/17 cooper stt's. 1/2" wheel spacers. Stock rubi wheels. Rancho drop brackets. I think thats it.

We just used regular rustoleum on it. I don't think it gets hot enough to require the high temp paint. We've had it sprayed for almost a year now and there haven't been any issues with it blistering, peeling or anything...

Show us some pictures if you decide to do it!

Looks great Caps!

UPS just showed up with the 37's Good gosh! I thought I was gonna have trouble returning them. I even drove by the local 4wheel parts store this morning and looked at 2 unlimiteds - one with 37's and one with 35's. The 35's look great IMO. The 37's look awesome. I really was thinking about rolling on the 37's, but when I set the 37 next to my Jeep I

So, I did refuse them. maybe in 3 or 4 months I will wish I got the 37's, but right now I am happy with my decision. I don't have to have the biggest Jeep on the block ... at least right now. It will still be bad ass. Just not quite as bad as the 37's

You must feel a bit relieved to have that decision behind you! Can't wait to see the build. Its going to look great!

I am now a member. Today was

Pickup
Detail (my decision, asked the dealer not to)
Rugged Ridge mesh
Black Jeep badge
LED tails
Gas cap cover
Remove the Sahara decal

To come
Wheels and 33" tires, already have just waiting a couple more weeks on the weather.
Color match bumpers
Spare tire delete/plate relocate
Heat extractor hood with flat black Sahara decal
Flat black Wrangler deal to replace the grey one
Tint front windows to match the back

Should have all that done at the end of May when I have time to do some painting.

Fellas... I feel like a woman trying on different pairs of shoes - StarBrite - No offense. I am a pretty decisive person and know what I want. These freaking tires are driving me nuts!

I will call this fate. I had refused the tires yesterday morning and completely out of the blue a guy rolls into my office (never met him before) in an unlimited with 3" lift and 33" tires. I was asking him about his Jeep a little bit and he said, "yeah, I am about to get some 37's on it." I had already been doubting my decision to refuse the tires and really don't want to regret not getting them.

Anyhow, to make a long story short, I may have called UPS to reschedule the delivery of the tires. I also called DTD and got a price on 35's with same wheel combo - it was only gonna save me $350.

So yeah - No going back. I'm sticking with my original plan. Lift should be arriving today. I will figure out a way to get the wife in and out "easily".
Think it's gonna be awesome. I really like the wheels. It better fit in the garage with the soft top!

Looking at my JKUR as my new girlfriend, it's all about Shoe$ and accessorie$. But as we all know fellas, they pay off comes when the top comes off.

ladies, I don't mean to offend, but I'm just a guy.

Hilarious! Good for you man, embrace your feminine side!!
I kid, I kid!!

I think you'll be glad you switched back...the fact that you've had such a difficult time deciding leads me to believe you're going the right way now and weren't really sold on the 35's to begin with... what lift did you end up going with, 3" AEV?

DAMNIT!!! I ordered a Polink from Quadratec and the package arrived yesterday, WITH A DAMN RUGGED RIDGE PLASTIC CUP HOLDER instead of the Prolink! Anyhow, called Quadratec today and they are shipping the correct part out today (and they said keep the cup holder).

Anyone need a free cup holder, fit a '76-'95 CJ & YJ?
NOT a Prolink!
