Kiall Greene at the Baytown Decker Drive store went the extra mile for me the past couple of weeks and even test drove it afterward. When he was done, he took a photo of my Jeep.

Wow--that pic pretty well establishes that as a neighborhood head turner. Well done on going for your own look here Bert.

Any issues with the fit on these wheels, or do they join the "these wheels definitely in 15s" list?

The ride on my new Duratracs has been great. Until this past weekend. I took my Jeep on its first long trip. When I got up to interstate speed, it had a shake/vibration. Do your Duratracs do this too? Or do I have an issue?

You have an issue. Something is out of balance

Dang it. I was afraid that was going to be the answer. I haven't even had them on a month and issues already. Thanks for the reply. : )

Actually mine is vibrating at speed of 65 or higher too. Not bad but noticeable.

I hope these aren't going to turn out to be those hard to balance tires. Had no problems with the 285/70/17's on wheel spacers.

I hope not too. I haven't seen anybody else say anything. Maybe we just had bad luck.

Add them to the list of wheels that fit. Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Nah, just go down and check the balance weights. such is the life of running big off-road tires.

Same thing just happened to me ( first real highway trip) ...and around town they feel a little lumpy, though I did not think much of it initially but now that I've messed around with tire pressures and checked that none of the weights fell off, I'm gonna bring it in and have the wheels rebalanced and have them check all the tires and wheels....possibly an out of round tire in the mix? I've had larger tires than these in the past with more aggressive tread...don't think it's that...but I won't rule out anything yet.

If you are referring to the Duratracs, they are an All Terrain tire.

Well, took mine back to the shop this morning to check the balance of the tires. They put both fronts on the balancing machine and rebalanced. They noticed what they called round off on both front tires where the tires are not perfectly round. Said it is not the first Duratracs they have found with this problem. Said if the vibration gets to bad, I will need to contact the seller about these being defective tires. Looks like I will end up having to contact DTD. I hate this. Haven't had a chance to get them up to 60mph yet to try them out. Will try later. Wished I had stayed with MT/R's. Now that's a great tire IMO

I had problems with my 35" BF km2's

I had them road force balanced.

2 of mine had to be rotated on the rim and one was bad it can't be balanced. That one now is my spare.

I am pretty sure my next set of tires will be going back to the GY MT/R 35X12.5X15's. So far, other then the tire looking great, being quiet and handling wet roads good, I'm not a huge fan. I have to see how the trails goes to make up my mind for sure.

Not sure if I have someone that can do a road force balance in my area. I hate to have to pay extra and it not even fix the problem

Google Hunter road force for locations.

I thought they all get road forced but that s not the case unless the tire won't balance. Charged me a normal rate for balancing but extra on the tires that needed to be broken down.

I really want that same setup.

5 x 33X12.5R15 Goodyear DuraTrac's
5 x MB 72 Matte Black Wheel

1.) what's the best OTD price on that setup people have seen? I see there's a bunch of Discount Tire's in my area. I just did the build on the website and it came to Total "Out the Door" Price $1,731.40
2.) I wonder what I could expect for my black Rubicon wheels and tires w/3k miles on them?

Rics, I have the same issue with my now 10K miles on then 33x12.5R15 duratracs. I have to have them re-balanced every oil change it seems. The vibration is the same and at the same speed others are experiencing it at. They have been great tires in every other sense but after balancing them recently, it seems that they may need it before the 3-4K mark this time.

To DTD,

Is there anything that can be done with those that have purchased these and have this reoccurring balancing issue? For the record, I have always had my tires balanced at my local discount tires.

You consider balancing beads ?

There's a Hub ring for the MB72 that may help with any vibrations but its only available for the MB72.

If you already have them, I'd recommend asking the store to install your wheels by hand next time (no air tools). Remind them how often you've tried to have them balanced and seem to still have a vibration. Sometimes a little extra time spend in bolting them up can make a big difference on how they ride.

Is a hub ring recommended? Is this really the answer? There are many opinions of them on the board.

Oh no! This is *not* what I want to hear. I have an appointment Friday morning to have mine re-balanced. I'll see what the tech has to say.

This round off that they refer to makes me start thinking. I have a picture I took right after I got my wheels/tires on that made me go hmmmm when I looked at it. The tire looks off/crooked. I asked my hubby about it but I cant remember exactly what he said.

Don't confuse a hub ring with a wheel spacer. A hub ring is merely a ring that fills a gap between the diameter of your wheels hub bore and your vehicles hub diameter. A hub rings only use is to help an installer center the wheel on the vehicles hub. Hub rings are not required in any application but they can be helpful during installation to reduce chances of vibrations caused by your wheel and tire assembly being mounted off-center.

Hub rings don't solve all vibration issues.
